2008 Hello! Project scarve photo sets are here! ^ ^

Although these are officially 2008 H!P scarf sets they seem to be more like 2009 sets as both the scarves and photos arrived this year…with the latter arriving just yesterday. What's odd about this latest set is while both the 2006 & 2007 releases arrived with both scarf and photo sets accompanying each other, this most recent release was sent out with the scarves arriving first with the photos arriving at a much later date as mailed out by the official Hello! Project Store.

The scarves themselves arrived in mid January and can be seen here in an older post….so tonight I just scanned the six photo sets some of which I'll be sending out as they were very much belated Christmas presents.

Each scarf photo set is comprised of two 3 1/2" X 5" photos which are now going under the name of "Up Front International" instead of UFA as in the past…and the word "International" does give hope for us international fans out here as perhaps this may be a sign of things to come outside of Japan as H!P ventures into new music markets heading west and hopefully into Europe too~!

Only the Maimichan, Nacchi, Manoeri and one of the Momo scarf sets are mines to keep as the other three were gifts…..Shirow I'll be sending your Momo photos out along with the BK single you won here recently…..Momo I'll be mailing your Sayu photos very soon and of course the Gakisan set is for my brother. ^ ^ I hope you don't mind Momo as I scanned your Sayu photos but I was most most careful with them I promise! And I know my brother won't mind~ XD….Gakisan's photos are really adorable this year!

Each set has each member posed with their personally designed scarf both wearing and holding them….enjoy the scans! All very cute….hmm…….I think Maimichan's are my favorite this year! ^ ^

「Featured post」~Idolcomix vol. two “末永遥。。。今日の為ごと”

It’s been awhile since Idolcomix vol. one was posted here I think last year…and while silliness does reign supreme here for most of the year I do wonder why this next volume took so long. 😛

But seeing that our incredibly adorable and once lost castaway Harukachan is ready to get back to work……here’s volume 1 and what has transpired up till now just in case you missed it……or it’s been too long to quite remember. XD Gomen~!

More Harukachan such as notes on her idol history, her pb releases, DVD releases, lots of cute photos and a bit more can be found here..  here..  here.. and here.   After seeing her in Bomb! magazine a few years ago Harukachan has become one of my most favorite idols and if it were up to me I so would have asked her to be in Momusu years ago~! ^ ^

The following is the result of what happens when one sees A-Rod and talk of steriods (performing enhancing drugs/PEDs) on t.v. one too many times in the past few weeks and its….um lingering effects~! 😛 I wish they would just play baseball as enough is enough already. :/ Hmmmm but then again it did finally get me to continue this series although I’m not sure if that’s really a good thing. XD

(No idols, cameramen or animals were injured in the making of this idolcomic!) =)

….When we last saw our heroine she was in the midst of repaying the kindness of the “shirtless” one with camera…

…but soon after wardrobe change after wardrobe change and rolls of film after rolls of film the day began to wear on Harukachan…..

…and she soon began second guessing her decision to partake in the shirtless man barbeque which occurred on the boat just a few hours ago…..

….and Harukachan grew frustrated by their artistic differences as the man with camera insisted on everything being cute all the time…..

….but with no choice Harukachan played along for the time being…..until either the moment of her escape arrived or his camera “mysteriously” fell…..:o…..

….however the seemingly endless barrage of questions involving IEPs (Idol Enhancing Products) were beginning to take their toll…..

….until alas an opportunity to escape “presented” itself XD…………….

(Harukachan had never witnessed a photographer run so quickly before!) 😮

….it was seemingly the oldest trick in the book…….yup Hello Kitty! works on men every time!! (^o^)/…..

…but the endless questioning by the man with camera had laid a dark cloud above Harukachan’s conscience it seemed…..and what would Big Papi and Ozzie Guillan think if they ever found out? >_<;…..

….and Harukachan knew at that moment that an ESPN exclusive interview was inevitable…..

…..soshite…..
………………
………….
………
…..
..
.

Peter Gammons: “Have you ever used IEPs also known as idol enhancing products, before?”

PG: “From what time period did you use them?”

PG: “But that was just a couple of months ago, and you say that you only used them for that time period?”

PG: “But in an earlier interview with P-Chan you said that you had never used IEPs before…were you lying to P-Chan?”

P-Chan: “GRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr” >_<

PG: “Where did you get IEPs from?”

PG: “Um..on me?……………..okay but after the interview though.” =) (^o^)/!!! Hm let’s hurry then!..just one more question before we wrap this up as a lot of people want to know if you still think that you should be inducted into the Gravure Idol Hall of Fame and if so should there be an asterisk* there?”

PG: “………………………………………………………………………….”

PG: “Uh Harukachan…………………………………………………….”

PG: “……………………………..who will put makeup on me now? Interviewers need IEPs too~” :/

When will harukachan wake up?…Will Peter ever get his promised makeover?…Will someone explain what ‘loosey goosey’ actually means?…tune in next time for these answers and more as Idolcomix continues! 😛

P-Chan & bitter melon smoothies….kawaisou~ne..Maochan to Moechan->.

Hm..but before the batsu fun…….or perhaps melon misfortune, I mean can you even imagine be made to drink bitter melon (one of the most disturbing "vegetables" on the face of the earth….gomen melon~! XD_) in smoothie form???!!……..(゜Д゜;)!!!!……this short little clip begins with one of SmapXSmap's most endearing and hilarious moments as one of Japan's most enduring and endeared groups is challenged to knock down caricatures of themselves ala baseball style! XD

Seems simple? Perhaps but I'm guessing it's much easier imagined than done…..(me + baseball = not such good accuracy >_<; ) But the real gem behind this challenge is how the members of Smap are set into an order to pitch in their attempts to knock down their personal caricatures, and while this clip only highlights a single run at the challenge…what ensued up to this point has been numerous attempts where each member got their fair chance at "practicing" time and time again as the order restarted time and time again each time a member missed their caricature board as the rules state…………..however, the only problem being that if you're last in the order (that being poor Goro 😦 ) you just don't get the same amount of opportunities to "practice" as the chain of attempts rarely if ever reaches you! :O

….Kyaaaaa~! the anguish of going last with so much pressure on you as everyone else has completed the task at hand and is depending on you! 😮

It doesn't end…..um well. 😛

Vlcsnap-81597Vlcsnap-81645Vlcsnap-81700Vlcsnap-81718

Bitter melon……….why oh why was this "vegetable" deemed edible??? O_o??? Or maybe it's just me? My mom ♥'z bitter melon~! Me not so much, actually that's an understatement of epic proportions!!!!! Bitter melon…OMG! (゜Д゜;)!!!!! Why do we choose to consume such a thing????……..it's "bitter!" and its name says so…….hmm…it gives poor melons a bad name~! 😛

Click above to watch the SmapXSmap clip
or scroll down further to hear me
ramble on. 😛

(Hm….you could do both though…..(*´∀`*) )

Wow there's a lot of pink in these clips~!

^ ^

It's time for Mix Juice Pinball!!  ………(゜∀゜)………。

It seems simple enough…..just get the oversized ball into one of the delicious holes!! (somewhere Henkka is smiling …..=D!! ) But with so many available delicious fruits which would make an ideal smoothie, how can one miss and let the ball fall into the dreaded chamber of bitter melon??? aka losing at pinball. 😮 It's cute how Kimutaku aka P-Chan asks Maochan what fruit she desires only to have it not available on the board! 😛

A~h! the adorabe Maochan of HYD fame and beyond is up for the challenge along side the ever pink P-Chan aka "Kimutaku all fuzzy" o(*´∀`)o゛♥. And now………..

…for the pinball launch~! \(^o^)/☆ It's amazing how large this pinball game is!!…… 😮

This shot really puts things into perspective….oversized pinball game = pure joy~! Note the delicious possibilities…as surely they'll get one as there are so many holes for the ball to fall into which would guarantee a sweet & delicious♪♪ prize…..Um……well…..erm………..um………….

Vlcsnap-81934Vlcsnap-81951Vlcsnap-81970

…banana…banana…….lol Henkka just woke up~! 😛 But it's not to be as…………………

………..P-chan!!! P-chan!!!!…dame!! dame!!……masaka……………….

…….P-Chan fails!!………kawaisou Maochan. 😦

Vlcsnap-82373Vlcsnap-82404Vlcsnap-82447

And lol oh noooooo P-Chan! It doesn't get any better for Moechan……………..

……………………………………………………………as she hopes for peaches!…

……………………………………………..but when you're…..

…praying for P-Chan to help, or perhaps and more likely no bitter melon smoothie please~!..things um "almost work out,…….demo ne..

Vlcsnap-82619Vlcsnap-82644Vlcsnap-82666

……P-Chan ricochets the ball into a loss…………………………………. 😮

And now for our P-Chan fail/moment of bitter melon fright!!! (;゜□゜)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…..

????????????????????????????????????????????????? the anticipation…………..

?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P-Chan's reaction………………………………………………………………..

…………………………….??????????????????????????????????

?????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(゜Д゜;)!!!!!!!!

~Priceless!!~

Kawaisou ne Moechanmo!…..

Vlcsnap-82871Vlcsnap-82908Vlcsnap-83165

……but Moechan does manage the cutest of reactions………well as cute as can be hoped for when faced with the dreaded bitter melon "beverage"…aka "the thing that should not be!" :O

…(^q^)

「Featured Post」米米CLUB

Surely a lot of scrutiny would go into anyone naming whom they consider to be perhaps the greatest vocalist they’ve had the pleasure of listening to over years of being a music lover and most definitely it’s an absolutely subjective outcome for each individual’s taste. Not an easy task by any means but for me personally while there are so many seemingly countless accomplished vocalists from generations past till present one name keeps coming to mind each and every time I hear him sing♪♪……it’s Ishii Tatsuya of Kome Kome Club.

From my earliest of encounters with Kome Kome Club which came directly from a friend through a Japanese drama, his is a voice of deep romantic qualities at first glimpse and with further listenings into their deep catalog which spans from 1985 till present so much more substance is present in this voice of incredible musical stature.

Admittedly mines is an abreviated listening experience at best as my very humble Kome Kome Collection covers their initial years through a 10 year complilation and thereafter just a few albums and singles have carried on my deep love of their immensely uniquely stylized music.

While I’m in no way certain of the number of members Kome Kome Club encompassed in their early days and throughout their reforming effort, there sure are a lot of members in this group!! Currently numbering 20 members presently, Kome Kome Club which presents their majestic brand of funk to contemporary J-Pop to bossa nova stamp on the music world comes via a most impressive ensemble including a complete band of musicians inclusive of just about every instrumentation that comes to mind in an extended standard group, and that along with horn section, an array of vocalists to dancers make up this massive ensemble whom in Japan’s music industry truly needs no introduction. Numerous tracks also take on the aura of a big band and while much of their music can be traced to jazz roots, Kome Kome Club remains a difficult group to label as pertaining to any single or related genre of music as theirs is an array of music life.

Kome Kome Club “Kimi ga iru dake de” mp3

Perhaps no other song in their immense catalog is as recongnizable and well known as their fairly early hit “Kimi ga iru dake de” which in retrospect topped the Oricon for weeks and in large is their trademark song of sorts. And with so many songs to choose from, within this post is just a little hint of their sound as only a small dose of which has been described beforehand is present as to not overload anyone. In simple terms the song above is a certified mega-hit within Japan’s catalog of music releases as it remains in a most impressive sense…one of Japan’s best selling songs of all time to this day.

Some are just naturally gifted, so is Ishii Tatsuya vocally, musically and lyrically as Kome Kome Club’s song writing is both group credited as well as solely credited to his name on numerous tracks.

Ishii Tatsuya’s vocals are deeper than the ocean….empowered with a free flowing amount of soul, groomed raw power, polished clarity, range and an immense vibrato which seems at times limitless. Yet there is an almost ease to his delivery as witnessed in their live performances and arguably this being a most envious natural ability of his by peers and fans alike, Ishii Tatsuya makes it look all to easy……..and while perhaps a song or two can be sung approaching his level, try a setlist for an entire concert.

Kome Kome Club disbanded in early ’97 following the release of their album “Pushed Rice” and during those few years until their eventual regrouping Ishii Tatsuya whose voice and songwriting is so much the makeup of Kome Kome Club itself would go on to solo ventures releasing a few albums and singles during that duration of the ensemble’s absence.

Here’s a few more favorites beginning with their energetic track “JUST MY FRIEND.” ^ ^

Kome Kome Club “JUST MY FRIEND” mp3

Kome Kome Club “Subete wa honto de uso kamo ne” mp3

“Subete wa honto de uso kamo ne” (one of the most amusing song titles ever!) was the very first Kome Kome Club song that I heard courtesy of a friend. (*´∀`*)♪♪♥

Kome Kome Club “Moshimo” mp3

Ishii Tatsuya “Rhythm” mp3

“Rhythm” was released as two versions, both as a single and an album track in ’98 as one of Ishii Tatsuya’s solo ventures during Kome Kome Club’s hiatus and also appeared as a theme song for the TBS drama “Makasete Darlin’.”

Today’s arrivals…Manoeri shashin to “Naichau kamo.”

Momusu continues to entice me with three versions of their singles and Type A & Type B have have two of the most gorgeous covers that I've seen to date! The look of pastels against black creates a most appealing visual as each cover varies the color schemes from inside to out and vice versa. The RE cover looks completely different which is a very welcome touch as well but the most welcome sight for me was seeing the inclusion of not one but two versions of their pv with a "Another Ver." & "Close Up Ver." being the extras for Type A & Type B editions respectfully. With the early previews it seems like "Naichau Kamo" has been out for ages but on its first day of sales Momo just shared with me some wonderful news as Momusu debuted at #2 on the Oricon selling in excess 24,000 copies! ^ ^ Definitely a nice start and I hope by weeks' end those sales soar even higher. =)

I'll definitely be listening♪♪ & watching/ (ovo))/ '. tomorrow~!…but in the meanwhile here's two new Manoeri shashin scans…..so kawaii~~!

久住小春。。。”はぴ☆はぴサンデー!”

Kohachan's releases outside of Momusu for her "Kirarin Revolution" series have truly been hit or miss amongst fans but from purely a music standpoint I sensed a bit of a turn to a more mainstream sound stemming from her MilkyWay releases all the while still maintaining an anime "aura" about them. And whether you love, dislike or just aren't yet sure about her vocals one thing is for sure…..no other member in Momusu would be so well equiped as Kohachan is to embody an anime character in such a lifelike sense.

A large part of her *charm* I find lies in her ever so overly amped up personality which has you imagining that she just never could sit still for very long in one place! If only Red Bull, Monster or Amp Energy Drink executives in marketing had any idea of her existence! XD

Kusumi Koharu's "Happy Happy Sunday!" LE CD single can be ordered here at Cdjapan.

Kusumi Koharu's "Happy Happy Sunday!" RE CD single can be ordered here at Cdjapan.

Kusumi Koharu's "Happy Happy Sunday!" pv DVD single can be ordered here at Cdjapan.

"Happy Happy Sunday!" opens with a slippery "peanut butter across warm toast" brand of unique rap (smudgey like however effective 😛 ) but once the song's verse follows, its constantly driving rhythm is layered with the cutest of sugary melodies. Kohachan's sometimes exaggerated vocals are wonderous throughout and I can't stress enough the cute factor that her vocals deliver here♪♪! Kohachan is such the perfect fit for anime stylings and she delivers her unique brand of genki overload to a point at which even its producers or songwriter probably couldn't have imagined themselves. =)

Coupled with a radiantly shot pv…"Happy Happy Sunday!" along with its lively set presents some of the most adorable dance choreography~!…..beginning with what is described as ningyou ("doll") steps which leads into what has become Kirarin's wonderfully simplistic trademark of steps for these releases. Her wardrobe rack adds a sweet touch as it includes a very familiar old favorite!

02 Hatten X JOY
Kusumi Koharu

"Happy's"'s coupling with track "HattenXJoy" while favoring a very repetitive style chorus delves into a most delicious recipe of "Kohachan hip hop" like never heard before! ^ ^ I can already envision Maimai flashing cute underground signs as she acts as Kohachan's back up dancer during a most hyper live performance. XD If only there were more rap lines for Kohachan to spring upon us as in its verses………(゜∀゜)………。♥ And for such a short composition "HattenXJoy" sure packs a lot of variety and punch into it's many musical changes making for one of Kohachan's most diverse and interesting tracks to date………I imagine UFA will be selling an assortment of Kohachan beanies and clocks to wear at her very next gig~! XD Also something tells me that the songwriter is a nostalgic fan of an old 80's funk group Morris Day & and the Time as a very distinct tribute of sorts can be heard more than once in this song! ^ ^

I love that her releases have begun including these cute little dance lesson pointers in between the pvs! There's simply no one else on earth quite as genki and animated as Kohachan!!….just a few seconds of the clip above and I'm sure you'll be convinced too~! ^o^

Vlcsnap-37689Vlcsnap-38215

And last but not least above is the "Dance Shot Ver." for "Happy Happy Sunday!"…..a "close up ver." just wouldn't have done justice to this release. ^ ^♪♪

A~h….almost forgot, here's just a peek into the DVD's brief making of footage which includes behind the scenes of the pv's production as well as jacket shooting…..

Official results for the race for a Berryz Koubou single & some thoughts on the race itself…

Really so many mixed feelings about this year's Sprint Cup opener……….just happy and excited to see the new season get kicked off in grand fashion while at the same some not so good developments occurred during the 51st running of what should be "the great American race" each year. But before anything…I'd like to congratulate Matt Kenseth and Jack Rouch on their first Daytona 500 win!!! Matt is so deserving…..he's always been one of the most respected and classiest of Cup drivers on the circuit through the years…congratulations Matt! \(^o^)/☆

While this is indeed just race one of a thirty six race long season it was heartwrenching to see all three of my favorite drivers finish in not so great positions with Jeff Gordon finishing in a disappointing 13th along with teammates Dale Jr. in 27th and Jimmie Johnson in 31st  (´⌒`。).

Restrictor plate racing in general has always been a wildcard on the schedule each year and none more than the season opening event where the leveled horsepower amongst cars along with Daytona's slick and often bottling track configuration often causes the feared "big one" which seems to inevitably change the very face and landscape of its competitors at any given inopportune moment. The "best" handling cars seemingly almost rarely win the event these days as often more than not they fall victim to circumstances out of their control including but not confined to untimely tire failure, other driver's errors, or dare I now say…..mother nature herself? Really one can conclude that each and every driver and team in the field is equally faced with such misfortune on any given lap and while that is true…somehow through recent years that just hasn't been the case in the midst of twists and turns which this event inevitably seems to throw at its most prestigious and well equipped competitors. Being at "the wrong place at the wrong time" is most popular….a direct result of restrictor plate racing and while this brand of racing is mesmerizing for fans to witness, just how gut wrenching it must be for the 43 drivers in the field for each event, something most of us will never truly know.

The skies opened up at Daytona International Speedway just about three quarters through yesterday's event pushing NASCAR's hand to call the race prematurely and while the post race fallout has been notably sour amongst writers and fans alike to a great extent, I do find NASCAR's reasoning to be well thought out and despite my own personal desire to also witness the final quarter of the race possibly held today giving the full advertised 500 miles its due I do understand their reasoning. A carried over finale held on Monday would give race teams a much shorter time which is needed to travel back to NC (the sight of most Cup team's headquarters) to load new cars & equipment before heading cross country all the way to California for the season's 2nd event. Furthermore with the current economy in it's bad state the cost to teams to stay an extra day at Daytona would further push teams into dismal financial situations which they are already facing head on full force. From a fan's standpoint I do see the need for NASCAR's biggest event to run in its entirety but when I take a step back and consider these circumstances…..much of them due to the big three American auto industries' struggles in these times I can see why NASCAR called the race last evening. Surely I was most disappointed along with every other fan but in this new gloomy economic landscape however, even fans I think should be most forgiving and understanding in these dark circumstances where race teams are merging and dismantling much of their resources just to survive.

The wreck ensuing due to Dale Jr. and Brian Vickers' getting together on the backstretch just added to the already gloomy forcast of weather on the way and in this one instant, truly changed the outcome of the race with many of the race contenders and best cars leaving the track in utter wrecked fashion. There's always three sides to the story when a wreck like this occurs and I'll refrain from going into it any further right now as many of these wounds are still weighing greatly on everyone's minds….mine included of course. 😦

Vlcsnap-152533Vlcsnap-152591Vlcsnap-152611

Matt Kenseth's winning moment!! ^ ^

But where did our BK race competitors finish?…………………………

(Results were determined by an average combined finish of the two drivers chosen by each entry)
I felt this was a really fair way to give away the single as every entry had an equal chance as they were able to choose their own two drivers for the race before qualifying began for the Daytona 500. Hmmm….if I find more goodies to give away surely I will most likely stick with this new format in the future as it adds an extra element of excitement as the results are broadcast on live t.v. for everyone to see. ^ ^ And in the future we should see the full duration of the events play out as they were intended……Mother Nature..onegai~! ^ ^

~Congratulations Shirow!~
(I'll send you a PM shortly for mailing details)

1st place: Shirow: drivers Kasey Kahne (29th) & Clint Bowyer (4th) combined for a 16.5 average finish.

~♥Happy Valentines Day♥~

I hope everyone’s having a wonderful February 14th~!

I just wanted to share a few love songs for Valentines Day and there really are a lot of songs out there to choose from when the universal theme of ♥ is sought after but these are just a few that instantly came to mind at first. ^ ^

I was initially thinking about posting another virtual date video…something that I did awhile back here but perhaps I will post that later although it would then be a very belated “Valentines” date video♥. XD

I hope you enjoy these songs that I’ve chosen and I wish you and yours the warmest of memories on this very special day~!

Each of the following songs were officially given “Maochan’s” ♥seal of approval♥ to ensure that only the highest quality of love songs reach your pc or mac……….which now has me wondering whether you’re a pc or a mac?….ah gomen that Mac Guy picture somehow doesn’t look right…he looks sort of sad? 😛

Please click~* for Vizu poll.

LOVE
Mr.Children

Mr.Children captures that wonderful Beatles sound of the 60’s in full ♥’ted fashion with their early composition “LOVE.” I promise that you’ll absolutely fall in love with this song as its sound pays great tribute to the “Sgt. Peppers” era. Its infectiously bouncy rhythm and bass line with slide guitar are beautifully reminscent….one of my most favorite songs~!

This is actually a single’s coupling with song but “kisses” is so the perfect ♥ song for any occasion, not just today~! Part of this song’s charm in addition to its most memorable of melodies & chorus are its simplistic lyrics which speak straight from the ♥~. This song would definitely be in my top 40 of J-Pop songs of all time….I guarantee you’ll ♥ this song too~! ^ ^

More on Matsu Takako and my obsession can be found here. ^ ^

And with today’s theme being Valentines Day I so must include a song with the word “Valentine” in its title. ^ ^ Vivian Hsu sings a really sweet♪♪ mid tempo ballad here in Japanese…..truly another one of my top 40 all time favorite J-Pop songs (*´∀`*)♥~. Her phrasing is really cute in this song and the melody is sweet♥’ed perfection.~

~♥♥♥♥♥♥♥~

Mr.Children “and I love you” (live…2005 Dome Tour)

And one last song to share today with the theme of ♥~. I chose to upload a live version of Mr.Children’s “and I love you” versus the mp3 as this performance totally trumps their studio version as great as it is! Well I’ve already been too much of a nuisance here on this special day…….so please click play~♥~.
