Just released on March 25th!, "Arashi Around Asia 2008 in Tokyo" is 210 minutes of pure *heaven*! While numerous concert videos now offer post concert backstage footage, "AAA 2008 in Tokyo" takes the experience a giant leap forward by immersing fans in preliminary concert rehearsals, stage planning, run through of backstage preparation, song rehearsals, tons of private footage as well as an in depth look at the recording of their Asian tour's theme song "Re(mark)able."

In all the opening segments of the DVD run approximately 39 minutes leading up to the actual concert beginning with…..(and note that I'm only scratching the surface here as there are just so many wonderful surprises included in the opening footage): Approximately 9 minutes of early rehearsal footage & behind the scenes coverage leading up to Matsujun's inspirational final concert speech to everyone (I cracked up at Shokun's antics of randomly coughing at Riida and the sight of seeing Matsujun warm up his vocals with a CD player was a most intimate and real moment!) / Footage of the arena's preparation including the set up of those wonderful moving indiviual lifts and platforms!! / approximately 6 more minutes of rehearsals, candid interviews (which run throughout) as well as Arashi's first time surveying the site before set up would begin. / Approximately 7 minutes documenting the recording of "Re(mark)able" including individual in studio member recordings where notably Nino is just so confident and so much the professional with his parts~!…..and an amusing moment with Shokun as he encounters a few little mishaps during his rap! XD / Approximately 5 more minutes of rehearsal footage. /

Furthermore all of the extensive pre-planning and run throughs needed for a concert of this magnitude are broken down wonderfully and in particular during the practice for "Re(mark)able", fans are given incredible insight into the inner workings of such a production on a grand scale~! Just the size of the venue itself is amazingly large and if I understood correctly this was a former host of the Olympic games many years ago…..and Arashi at one point gets a close up look at the cauldron which beared the flame once! The camera's access in this opening is nothing short of extraordinary giving a unique and rare look into all that goes into the amazing concerts that Arashi always perform for fans…..moving, raw, insightful…*beautiful*…….

I've been *dreaming* of a live concert performance of their most beautiful mid tempo ballad "Still…" for some time now~………….alas my dreams are answered! ………(゜∀゜)………。Shokun's rap gives me *goosebumps*…(^q^)

There's so much ~♥~ in Arashi's performances and after watching this concert surely you'll feel tired!!! XD They just put so much energy and effort into their stage choreography and their ability to connect with fans throughout their shows are truly second to none~. From the opening with one of their most beloved songs♪♪ "Love so sweet" till the finale which ends with the fun antics resembling a giant "slip & slide" across the stage, Arashi delivers the complete concert experience…..precise, memorable, awe inspiring…..*re(mark)able*. ＾　＾

Jimmie Johnson wins at Martinsville Speedway!!!! ＼(^o^)／☆

I'm sorry that I can't be online much today as I'm heading to watch "Twilight" for the very first time in a few minutes…….I'm so behind on movies!

I just wanted to say congratulations to my favorite♥ driver Jimmie Johnson (also Jeff Gordon & Dale Jr.!) on his first win of the 2009 season which came at one of the best and most exciting tracks on the Sprint Cup Series circuit!! Now that Bristol has re-configurated banking opening up more grooves it seems that most of the contact on a short track is now the prized possession of Martinsville which also holds some of the series' most history as well. As NASCAR's shortest track on their Cup schedule Martinsville never disappoints often ending with excitement and drama….and really putting 43 cars on a .526 mile narrow oval which consists of two "drag strips" connected by two hairpin turns at either end makes for inevitable close quarters amongst drivers every time they come here~.

Johnson indeed didn't have a very good handling car at the start and for much of the first half of today's race by past midway through the 500 laps he and criew chief Chad Knaus (the mastermind!) made steady gains and adjustments getting Johnson nearer to the front of the pack. He barely led any laps but with just 15 laps to go Johnson made the move of the race as he…………um "nudged" a little bit to move Denny Hamlin out of the low groove and then completed the pass as both drivers managed to keep control of their cars under such an extremely dramatic moment!! I was so thinking that Hamlin would be very very furious when interviewed afterward but his sense of the situation and poise were well stated as Hamlin admitted that had their positions been reversed he would have done the same thing to Johnson as it was just the nature of short track racing and what one may need to do in order to make a late race pass especially when a win is at stake. =)

This win comes during Hendrick Motorsport's 25th anniversary in the sport and this very win at Martinsville is really special as it also comes on the 25th anniversary of Rick Hendrick's very first win which occured at this very track! ^o^

Johnson has often come under critisism (although I think it's unwarranted ) for not being "aggresive" or "gritty" enough for his place in the sport as one of the main faces now…………well I think he may have just chipped a little away from that today and some were beginning to state that his new "grungy" look with beard needed to go as it was….erm a "jinx?" and perhaps keeping him out of victory lane this season. Hmmmm….I personally ♥ his "new" look as it gives him an edgier..rougher *look* and now surely after today's win perhaps he shouldn't shave anytime soon either~…(^q^).

Milk (・_・)

Thank you to Solo-kun for his wonderful suggestion which has solved my milk woes which have plagued me for most of my life since high school~.

But so that this post doesn't appear to be so random here's how my thoughts on milk originally began a few days ago………..

If you can drink milk…then I am already most envious of you! Back in elementary, Intermediate, and in High School..milk was good for your body ne~ and lactose intolerance wasn’t even part of everyday vocabulary. If someone could build me a time machine I’d so go back to the very first day right after High School graduation and the one thing I’d change  besides forgetting whom had my yearbook last (I do wonder where it is today though..(´⌒｀。)…..) would be not stopping my daily milk consumption which I sadly did…and now even years later I am paying the price for this! It seems that my prolonged lack of milk intake has caused my body to reject its white creamy goodness which so many of us *crave* and enjoy on a daily basis. (>_<)

Every day that I choose to eat cereal reminds me of my wish for this time traveling device to be soon made into a *reality* as I now have to eat it completely dry. If you’ve ever tried eating completely dry cereal then you understand my pain. Captain Crunch hurts the corner of your mouth after awhile and begins tasting a bit salty. Cheerios is just sad even if it’s honey nut! Honey bunches of oats just doesn’t taste right without milk. Special K with cranberries needs milk. Fruit loops, impossible without milk. Coa Coa puffs taste like chocolate so I wouldn’t eat those anyay..dry or with milk. Raisin bran…too much “bran” without milk. Trix..I don’t think even the Bunny would eat them without milk. Don’t even get me started about Lucky Charms! Too sweet! XD And no Honey Comb hideout without milk I’m afraid! After consulting some of the nation’s top milk authorities (my milk drinking friends =) ) nearby I even tried lactose free milk (I do wonder however how do they remove such a thing…what does lactose actually look like in a stand alone form?), soy milk which is lactose free…still no luck. Nande?..(・c_・;)？And the dreaded ugh! powdered milk!!!!! (゜Д゜;) Clearly milk was never intended for this form ever!…(^q^)

So after much contemplation on the subject I’ve come to the conclusion although not scientific like those surveys you see on t.v., that I’m not only lactose intolerant but I’m also “milk” intololerant.  Meaning that even if just the word “milk” appears somewhere in the ingredients or on the box or carton itself….I won’t be able to consume it! Like soy “milk”……..”Milk Duds”……..”Milky Way”…………”Cookies and Cream”…wait that doesn’t say “milk” (checks the ingredients……………)………………….aha! I knew it! =)

So now it’s calcium supplements for me. I think I’ll put them in my cereal tomorrow when I get home and see if anyone notices. (￣▽￣)♥

Cereal w/ oj…(^q^) ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪

………..but now there's happiness once again in cereal world for me~! When Solo-kun first suggested orange juice I have to admit that he seemed to be heading me into a possible batsu game result~! XD However despite my mom thinking me very strange as she watched in amazement as I poured oj into my bowl of cereal it's actually really yummy♪ and refreshing~. Orange juice not from concentrate I'm sure tastes much better so luckily we tend to not purchase concentrates and the result was *happy* cereal once again~. And mom already thinks I'm a little odd so this whole oj/cereal image will soon blend naturally into everything else odd I do around the house. XD

I've gone so long eating dry cereal that having some company in my bowl was a much welcomed sight and delight to my taste buds so now instead of having a glass of orange juice on the side I just have it together as breakfast in a bowl or rather as lunch sometimes. =) As Solo-kun suggested I chose a more plain cereal since the orange juice would be adding much of the flavor……and luckily Total which is really really plain was on sale. I think it was meant to be~ (*´∀｀*).

Ohhh I’ve been anticipating this release for a while now ever since it appeared on Cdjapan’s pre-order newsmail! Hello! Project’s all time feistiest member has left quite a void in the ranks of H!P where anyone even close to matching her energy, sense of humor and full of fire spunky personality is yet to appear. And for someone so tiny she sure packs a punch like no other!

The entire “AIR BAND” thing really had me confused as to what exactly to expect with her counterparts on this release…..did they just have the word “AIR” in their name of were they in fact indeed an actual ‘air’ band?! ^o^ For anyone who’s watched the charming J-dorama “Yamataro Monogatari” starring none other than the handsome Nino!…then the “AIR” portion of this release will surely delight~! ………(゜∀゜)………。For any long time H!P fans……..the Marippe portion of this release is not only a long time coming but well worth every second we’ve waited for her official return to the music releasing world! ＼(^o^)／☆

So it’s time for the battle of the bands……..or actually Marippe against a band! 😛 AIR BAND that is!….and the end results will left up to you! =)

In one corner we have everyone’s favorite mini member and her pv is a fun and energetic watch as Marippe easily makes up for the video’s simplicity which utilizes several different camera angles and a simple in-studio appearing set with various lighting effects. Simple but yes! definitely effective! =)

In the other corner we have a most amusing and fun visual feast with AIR BAND pulling out all the stops to entertain and rock the stage like no other air group has perhaps ever achieved before? (￣▽￣) It’s pure insanity on stage with these guys as they’re just so sooooo funny to watch!!!!! Enthusiasm and “realism” is at an all time high here with drums, guitar, keyboards, and bass all represented along with an array of gruff and very engaging vocals to boot~! (*´∀｀*)♪♪

And the song♪ itself? Grungy rock ‘n roll heaven on a bun!

For it was the air guitar which was first “built” when the air band boom saw groups sprouting up all over the world! A few more Amurochan favorites~♥

Amuro Namie "Best Fiction" CD + DVD edition

The following pvs can be found on Amuro Namie's best of compilation album "Best Fiction" which matches 17 select tracks with their 17 pvs. Most of the details of this release were previously posted in the above link so without repeating them here I just added 3 favorites which were unfortunately removed earlier in video that I embedded.

A lot of my Amurochan favorites actually lie in her very earliest of releases going back to her time with the Super Monkeys so these are in a sense from the second phase of her career. ^ ^ "All For You" and "Wishing on the Same Star" are beautiful ballads which really highlight the range and feel of Amurochan's amazing and powerful vocals♪ while a more recent track "Do Me More" is a finely tuned r&b track.

All three were treated to Avex's brand of well thought out production which always boasts large budgets just by the sets and visuals alone…………..with "Do Me More" in particular having a most elaborate storyline all played out with a twist on "Alice in Wonderland"………….. =)

Amuro Namie's latest single offering comes in the form of a double A-side which features an edition including pv for both songs. When it comes to promoting their artists with punch and a sizeable budget Avex never skimps on production costs giving their artists a wonderful allure with each release.

Amurochan tops the Oricon charts once again with "WILD" / "Dr." taking the #1 spot along with impressive sales topping 75,000 in just its first week of release!

"WILD" hits with a sensational hip hop flavor full of sensuality as has been the choice of genre for much of her latter Avex releases till this point and is accompanied with a pv which matches or even possibly exceeds with mesmerizing and high impact visuals set in a futuristic stage. The track also is highlighted by electronic ovetones and deep r&b roots giving the listener an instantly encompassed groove. Tight dance choreography, striking outifts, an array of support and back up dancers all tied together with action movie like graphics which are absolutely amazing……add a perfect complimentary touch……speaking of Avex and their willingness to put forth such great efforts for their fans, "WILD" was truly given a budget worth its due! A very sexy track from Amuro Namie~!

Amuro Namie singles collection complete…41(now 42!) and counting…..

"Dr." leans away from hip hop presenting itself as a rather unusual dance tune which moves between a constant driving rhythm to an almost dreamy like state. Inspired by Ravel's "Bolero", it really actually took me a few listens to really find an appreciation and liking for this track as opposed to "WILD" which was instantly engrossing. The pv also is a huge contrast as Amurochan is anime'd into a world of the "future" where an infected planet in need of hope awaits our heroine's blessed arrival amidst the likes of a nurturing mastermind, giant worm like things!!! (゜Д゜;) (seems that these "things" often find their way into Japan's anime world 😮 ), a distant cousin of Lord Vader's Death Star out in deep space XD and the promise of this story's continuation as indicated by the brief ending dialogue. And while this track may be a bit unusual at first…or at least it was for me in the beginning..(・_・)….the  visuals of this episode of anime really works wonders here~.

Smells like Marippe… :o

For years NASCAR has been offering fans a real slice of the drivers with race used fire suits and uniforms being cut into neat little squares and then framed magnificently along with perhaps an accompanying photo! =) On other occasions even parts of actual race used cars have been scrapped for sheet metal when victory lane was their destination…..still search further and even race used tires or even parts of racing track surfaces have appeared for sale!!! (^o^)/♥

So……it seems that now H!P has perhaps found a new niche (although this was released quite awhile ago) to entice fans with………………..here witness something Ohta just e-mailed for your want or approval~……….I wonder where this has been hiding for all of these years?…..

Hello! Project Worldwide Fanclub petition……..^ ^

Hello! Project

Tautterkle recently sent me this link from Hello!Online…it's a petition being prepared for H!P/UFA's venture into international markets outside of Japan and I'm sure you're like most of us so wanting to see the beginning of an official international fan club~!!!! The possibilities are seemingly endless in light of this all coming to fruition and a very real possibility of it happening, and surely UFA is very much aware of our presence to the West and beyond as evidenced by their recent collaboration with Japan Files helping to bring H!P's music closer and much more accessible to those outside of Japan. And surely we number many, so the reality of a IFC is really not a stretch and with lots of signatures on board here with this petition I think the timing is not only right but with the upcoming event at the Anime Expo in L.A. surely this will present the perfect opportunity to reach UFA as they're clearly making an enormous effort to reach out to us here in the U.S., however as the petition states this is indeed not only about the U.S. but really every country where there are H!P fans present no matter where you happen to reside. =) The petition linked above provides all of the information suggested to make this possibility closer to reality for fans everywhere….please share the link~! The more the merrier as we can present a loud voice here in hopes of being heard~. ^ ^

Manoeri "Otome no inori" first press A, B & C editions

The whirlwind of anticipation leading to Manoeri's major label debut release payed dividends as "Otome no inori" ("Maiden's prayer") debuted at #3 on the Oricon charts and settled at #7 for the week's ranking. ^ ^

The previews of the covers were so overwhelmingly *pretty* that I opted for her A, B and C versions and with this being her major debut I felt a little extra giddy in getting these three versions~…(^q^).

The cover and inner artwork is greatly varied for these three editions…(the RE was a bit similar to type A's cover) and one of H!P's most photogenic doesn't disappoint in delivering adorable images all around!

Type A edition is the only standard sized jewel CD case release of the four as it includes a DVD in addition to the CD which presents the "Close up ver." of Manoeri's "Otome no inori" pv. Type B perhaps is the most collectible though as it includes a full color 24 page photo book!! ＼(^o^)／☆..which is definitely my personal favorite extra in most cases~! Type C includes a serial numbered event card which is common amongst all first press editions….so really choosing to purchase this edition was purely based upon aesthetics. =)

While I do have an extreme fondness for the title track, here I would have flipped the script giving its b-side top honors for this single. "Mizuiro omoi" just has such a divine warmth♪♪ and cuteness about it and in various ways a much more engaging melody♪♪ than its predecessor…………so much reminiscent of early 90's J-Pop I find. And the song itself I find seems to suit Manoeri's vocal stylings much more than any song that she's released thus far in her indies releases……..although "Manopiano" I do consider otherwise in this sense. Both tracks do possess a real folk type of arrangement to them with the added elegance of Manoeri's ever present piano♪♪~. The cuteness and pureness of her vocals though, I do find to take to a much better presence in the phrasing of the vocal arrangement in "Mizuiro omoi" but that's not to say that I don't absolutely adore the title track as well~!

YouTube was undergoing a bit of site maintenance so I uploaded the "Close Up Ver." of "Otome no inori" here to VOX instead (above), this being the only version available to me at the moment with her pv DVD single being released on the 25th. I'm sure hoping that the original pv is much much much more engaging and fun than the "close up ver." which is about as plain as can be……basically a pink back screen with a single take being employed and yes only one angle being taken here throughout the entire music video. Surely this could have been much more creative, but Manoeri's so adorable here…….so I'll give no further complaints about the simple production of this pv version. 🙂

"Otome no inori" is truly more in the flavor of melancoly♪♪ and much of the mood of the verses are actually quite in the genre of "haunting" and dramatic giving this song a flavor that would actually suit a J-drama of the right compliment quite well I think. ^ ^

Oil change instructions for women & men…..

Oil Change instructions for Women:

1) Pull up to Jiffy Lube when the mileage reaches 3000 miles since the
last oil change.
2) Drink a cup of coffee
3) 15 minutes later, write a check and leave with a properly
maintained vehicle.

Money spent:
Oil Change:  $33.00
Coffee:        Free
Total:         $33.00

Oil Change instructions for Men:

1) Wait until Saturday, drive to auto parts store and buy a case of oil, filter, kitty litter, hand cleaner and a scented tree, write a check for $50.00.
2) Stop by 7/11 and buy a case of beer, write a check for $20, drive home.
3) Open a beer and drink it.
4) Jack car up. Spend 30 minutes looking for jack stands.
5) Find jack stands under kid's pedal car.
6) In frustration, open another beer and drink it.
7) Place drain pan under engine.
8) Look for 9/16 box end wrench.
9) Give up and use crescent wrench.
10) Unscrew drain plug.
11) Drop drain plug in pan of hot oil: splash hot oil on you in process.  Cuss.
12) Crawl out from under car to wipe hot oil off of face and arms.  Throw kitty litter on spilled oil.
13) Have another beer while watching oil drain.
14) Spend 30 minutes looking for oil filter wrench.
15) Give up; crawl under car and hammer a screwdriver through oil filter and twist off.
16) Crawl out from under car with dripping oil filter splashing oil everywhere from holes. Cleverly hide old oil filter among trash in trash can to avoid environmental penalties. Drink a beer.
17) Install new oil filter making sure to apply a thin coat of oil to gasket surface.
18) Dump first quart of fresh oil into engine.
19) Remember drain plug from step 11.
20) Hurry to find drain plug in drain pan.
21) Drink beer.
22) Discover that first quart of fresh oil is now on the floor. Throw kitty litter on oil spill.
23) Get drain plug back in with only a minor spill. Drink beer.
24) Crawl under car getting kitty litter into eyes. Wipe eyes with oily rag used to clean drain plug. Slip with stupid crescent wrench tightening drain plug and bang knuckles on frame removing any excess skin between knuckles and frame.
25) Begin cussing fit.
26) Throw stupid crescent wrench.
27) Cuss for additional 5 minutes because wrench hit bowling trophy.
28) Beer.
29) Clean up hands and bandage as required to stop blood flow.
30) Beer.
31) Dump in five fresh quarts of oil.
32) Beer.
33) Lower car from jack stands.
34) Move car back to apply more kitty litter to fresh oil spilled during any missed steps.
35) Beer.
36) Test drive car.
37) Get pulled over: arrested for driving under the influence.
38) Car gets impounded.
39) Call loving wife, make bail.
40) 12 hours later, get car from impound yard.
