Whew~!….for a moment there I was so worried that Momo had somehow lost or perhaps misplaced her *heliumness*~♥~…luckily though all is well and in place as Buono!'s latest single release continues to make them H!P's and in a larger sense J-Idol's most rocking trio~!…"My Boy" is simply *sensational* in every way~!

I haven't watched any of Shugo Chara! just yet and it being the associated anime, just the sheer aggressiveness of "My Boy"makes me quite curious as to what this anime entails…

The *soul* of "My Boy"'s composition hits like a….thrash metal composition for the lack of a better description at the moment but in any case it's definitely at least of the "heavy metal" genre I think.~ "Janakya Mottainai!" remains yet as my most favorite Buono! metal release =) and the aggressive unison of instruments♪♪ is reminiscent of many past hard rock ♥'z of mine! But what's so awesome and unique about J-music is how even with such a hard driven composition, when the vocals hit you it then all becomes soooo *cute* all over again~! And another wonderful surprise is that while he didn't write the lyrics, Tsunku did write the music♪♪ for the title track "My Boy" and compositions like these just continue to validate Tsunku's amazing versatility as he's truly capable of writing so many style and genres of music as he's shown and proven time and time again~! =)

"My Boy" also seems to have a bit of a new wave identity going on as those keyboard riffs which occur during the song's intro and during its breaks throws yet another variable into what otherwise would be pure metal track….although there would absolutely be nothing wrong with that!! =)

The coupling with track "Warp" is much more tame for sure all the while still hinting at making this a true double a-side keeping with a well driven rock sound…and while being no where near as striking as the title track in terms of overall impact…."Warp" is actually a bit more of a melodic♪ track as it showcases each member's vocals somewhat more~. Somehow the vocal arrangement has a way of creating the aura of a mid tempo feel with its more smoothly flowing lines, while the instrumentation in contrast tries to keep up with its predecessor~.

The LE CD single release includes both a photo card (right) and a bonus DVD which includes a look into the making/shooting of each edition's jacket. The DVD runs approximately 7:16 and primarily highlights each member's thoughts on their incredibly *adorable* outfits as well as some of their thoughts on the single's style~.

Although I would so have loved if they'd included an alternate version of the title track's pv as has occurred in past H!P LE releases….it's still a very nice look into a bit of the behind the scenes of a fun and lively photo shoot………and as always is the case with Buono!…you can be sure to count of Airrin to *ham* it up for the camera with the cutest of expressions…she's just so spontaneously funny!…(^q^)!

Hello! Project member caps!…..and a future giveaway~. =)

I'm always so behind on posts which I want to write………here sits next to be in addition to BK's latest DVD magazine……Ayu's latest album in USB format!…..Maimichan's first solo DVD!……the Elder's Club graduation concert DVD!……a new single by Deen!…..and Buono!'s "My Boy" LE single which I sooooo am looking forward to listening to!!

A few weeks ago Ohta put up for pre-order what I believe to be H!P's first official individual member cap releases~!

Junjun & Chiichan caps in the spotlight~

I ended up indulging in seven of them…..lol but they're not all for me of course as two are for my brother~. =) He chose Tanakachi and Gakisan's designs……(Gakki is his favorite at the moment~)

All of their designs were soooooo adorable and immensely *cute* so choosing was quite the challenge for me personally. XD I love when H!P does these type of personal releases where the members get to share not only their artistic talent but also their personal side with these types of drawings~. While Kamei's "kame" was a must for sure I then realized that Gakisans' was just too sweet♥ to not order~!

But in the end it was Junjun's personal drawing which really attracted me the most!!! ………(゜∀゜)………。…while Chiichan's wins for overall artistic presentation I think! =)

I ended up ordering two of Junjun's caps….one to *adore* personally while the other is for a future giveaway (promise I won't wear it!!! XD ) that will be posted here later on VOX. Please stay tuned a bit later as I'm thinking of tying in the giveaway along with the Sprint Cup Series "Chase" format which highlights the final 10 events of their season….so hopefully it'll be much more exciting and fun this way~! ＾　＾ It'll be a tad bit different from the earlier Berryz Koubou single giveaway earlier this year and I think it may be more fun and engaging this way too~.

And on a final mind lapse moment..…(^q^) I somehow managed to order C-ute's pv DVD single for "Bye Bye Bye!" twice in a mixup of sorts…..or more likely me just being incredibly absent minded it seems! (._.;) So in light of my mind numbness which occurs way too often it seems in moments like these….I'll give away C-ute's pv DVD single during the same giveaway as Junjun's cap, so there will be a second winner to be chosen randomly for entering whereas Junjun's cap will go to the overall best score when the "Chase" is final at Homestead Miami~. =) Tanoshimi kudasai~! ＾　＾

A few future posts that need to be made….Kindai & UTB scans…the new issues are *pretty*!!….Berryz Koubou’s DVD magazine vol. 15….it’s been awhile since I last posted a H!P magazine here..:/….and Ayu’s latest album release “Next Level” which really is a most innovative idea!….USB format for a release?….it’s pretty amazing and very original~ for sure! =)

Also a Junjun cap *giveaway* to announce a bit into the future….think “Chase” as in NASCAR Chase where this will be a Chase for a Junjun cap…it’s soooooooooooooo cute!!! that I’m beside myself just looking at it! And don’t worry I won’t wear it first although the thought did cross my mind….well sort of…..actually I so adore it..please restrain me~! 😛

Tonight while reading your wonderful and thoughtful comments through VOX and replying I had in the background an older mp3 collection playing♪♪…….and it reminded me of just some of the many artists that I’m yet to post here….some thoughts would be Fujii Fumiya, Fukakyon, L <-> R, Glay….and Fukuyama Masaharu to name just tidbit as these were on the same collection I was listening to earlier tonight but there are so many more……..here though are just three favorites♥ that struck me once again as great songs often do…..hmm…previously posted but still so irresistible! =)

Sadly both releases are out of print :(..but if anyone is interested in these songs please let me know here in this post.

“Rainbow Moon” will always be for me personally one of the greatest J-Pop songs of all time ever and to think this song was a b-side~!……it’s just so *pretty* and not just in melody♪♪, but how well developed Amurochan’s vocals were at this very very young age, so powerful and heartfelt, she really soars here!!!….and this being just her second major release with “The Super Monkeys” all those years ago~! “Rainbow Moon” was released as a single on May 26th, 1993…….I can’t stress enough how beautiful this melody♪♪ is~. Ten♥Musu………..this is much more of a walk down idols memory lane for me…………

Ten♥Musu “Sakurasaku” single (cover scan)

“Ten♥Musu” released a wonderfully written and performed single back on February 21st, 2001 and this group really is like a “super” idol group in a real sense as each member has had their time gracing magazine covers and articles in magazines such as Bomb! and UTB to just name a couple. Matsuda Jun ♥ Arisaka Kurume ♥ Yamakawa Erika ♥ Ohtani Mitsuho ♥ Sakai Ayana are “Ten♥Musu” and while I’m most familiar with Sakai Ayana and Ohtani Mitsuho, all five idols here were perfect selections for this group as they each in their own unique way bring quite well tuned vocals to this idol project release!

Ummm okay there is the towel shot here XD….but um well they are idols! 😛 But along with that they each can really sing quite well and I think you’ll agree that the songwriting here is very stellar! And while some of these idols were more on the side of the gravure idol genre, it’s nice for them to be able to show that they’re much more than beautiful faces, bodies, and personalities. This single includes two tracks: “Sakurasaku” is the title track but I really find this release to be more of a double a-side single as the “b-side” “Graduation” is just as well written and performed! Kiite ne~….I love how well their vocals are layered in “Sakurasaku” throughout the chorus~……so pretty! (*´∀｀*)♪♪

  “Sakurasaku” and “Graduation” were both directly tied in with the popular Nihon TV program “Yorumo Hit Parade” which showcases many of your favorite stars…past and present singing karaoke covering the top ten J-Pop songs which are current! Really a fun show to watch and if you get a chance to watch you’ll see so many favorite artists which in the past have included Chinen Rina, Kudo Shizuka, Sakai Noriko, Nishida Hikaru, Moriguchi Hiroko…while names such as Speed, Max, and Amuro Namie have also made appearance as well in the earlier days of the show’s popularity. Here’s the second track “Graduation” which is just as catchy of a song. 🙂 Such perfect J-Pop.

Just released on April 15th, OLIVIA returns with her latest single offering "Sailing free" which features 3 rock flavored compositions. Olivia has long been blessed with some of the most dramatic and versatile vocal talents…..displaying such prowess moving from pure power vocals to piercing falsetto…to light vibrato, all cradled in a most distinct character…delivered by some of the most amazing vocal control ability heard in the pop/rock genre.

To hear Olivia's debut as well as other earlier releases dating back to D&D I have a few of them posted here from a short while back. In particular her single "Dear Angel" remains quite a favorite of mine from her earlier releases. =) And from her very debut you can already hear the immense power in her vocals as well has her incredible range.

Olivia has an amazingly imaginative and creative mind and beyond her music writing credits which have spanned the most of her career comes some of her artwork……a bit which is included with her first press edition in the form of the sticker to the right.

What really caught me totally off guard as I was in no way expecting this….(lol I probably should have paid more attention to the releases' description when I first ordered it! 😛 ) is a special collaboration with Inoran formerly of Luna Sea fame~…….they being truly one of the most accomplished and celebrated hard rock groups in Japan's history! Inoran appears courtesy of King Records as has co-written the music for Olivia's title track "Sailing free" and as an amazing treat he also performs the guitar and bass tracks on the single as well!!

Hopefully a bit in the future I can share some of Luna Sea's music……but for now here's a clip I found for their single "I For You" which was the theme song for the heart wrenching drama "Kamisama mou sukoshi dake" which stars the the incredibly handsome Kaneshiro Takeshi and the most adorable Fukakyon~! This drama was so sad though….and just hearing this song again now brings back a blanket of sadness. The song is amazing though!!…please don't get me wrong as I totally ♥ it! =)

Olivia "Sailing free" pv

I've uploaded the pv for "Sailing free" just above and it's a most visually creative music video as it captures a sort of a "puppet" play with the props alongside the band members and Olivia who are represented as themselves amongst a sea of visual effects~. I personally prefer Olivia with a much more natural hairstyle versus the one she has in this video clip which is sort of wild!!..perhaps putting it mildly! =) The single's cover for instance (top of post) is most breathtaking and beautiful…..I so would have preferred her to have kept a similar look for her pv as well….but it's really a little thought of mine as I love how the look of the pv collaborates with the music♪♪~ track.

All three tracks are purely rock tunes with each having a most distinctly different personality……."Sailing free" as the powerfully driven rhythm……"Love Love Love" the *daydreamy* rock ballad..and "Undress" as a mid tempo balance between them~. All three tracks feature lyrics written by Olivia with "Sailing free" being co-written while the latter two tracks "Love Love Love" and "Undress" being penned by Olivia exclusively…….the music to all three tracks were co-written by Olivia and as aforementioned the title track features a most special guest in Inoran! Often times her lyrics feature a blend of Japanese and English intermingled throughout her compositions often touching on sensual and always very visual themes and while the title track does follow this formula…tracks 2 & 3 are written in English entirely for this release.

In addition to the pv for "Sailing free", the accompanying DVD also includes a most interesting "short movie" clip which is somewhat like a documentary as it shows Olivia building a most…(lacking a better word here..)..*interesting* gadget. =) It's one built on a specific basis of love and *kisses* under very specific conditions which Olivia goes over before its construction~. The "-Making of Zapper-" clip gives the DVD a total running time of approximately 13 minutes along with the pv and a very cute moment occurs when Olivia attempts to have her heart shape receive a *kiss* from a very special and cuddly cute friend of hers~! (*´∀｀*)………..

Hmmm…as far as the final reaction when Zapper is finally completed and tested………..well erm it's..a very enthusiastic reaction for sure! XD

Yajima Maimi's shashinshuu "17" features scenic Guam which serves as a most welcome sight for her 3rd photographic effort~. C-ute's leader has long been one of H!P's most beautiful…..blessed with a natural *radiance* and qualities of overall beauty fitting of a model, Maimichan is also a picture perfect portrait of every thing that goes into the making of a role model for her fellow members…peers and young girls alike.

"17" is photographed is most mature light…….capturing Maimichan as she transcends from adolescence into adulthood, however one may not readily recognize the former as much of this pb is shot in thoughtful poses and atomosphere alike all the while still hinting in playful moments~ intermingled within. Much of her chosen wardrobe features cute youthful dresses, tops….to casual wear and whether much or any are actually part of her personal collection there's a seamless sincerity as nothing is presented out of character or "in character" in the sense of trying to re-create her very aura long known to fans. Elegant….picturesque….to athletic and playful all come to mind giving "17" a well rounded presentation……however perhaps most important, is the well thought out art direction through which Maimichan is brought to life through the camera lense in perfect eloquence.

…Less than six years ago ZYX released two singles..far too little I thought at the time as they were really one of H!P's most adorable and mighty little units ever! =) Maimichan has grown so much in just the past 6 years making her appearance in the screencap above appear so distant….wow~ time has surely flown by~!

And it was always so *cute* how Ume towered above everyone in the group…..most notably at the time..Marippe♥~ whom served as their fearless little leader♥~! ＾　＾　…..all those years ago. =)

An UP♥DATE with 福留佑子…a gravure idol in focus.

It’s been awhile since I last posted about a gravure idol here…tonight’s visual focus will be Fukudome Yuko and part of the real irony here is that while some of the photography presented in her debut shashinshuu are rather on the mature side she herself was 17 at the time of this release..(sensual photography not nudity of course!) Japan’s idol culture has long been one of contradiction in that while laws prohibit the youth under a set age not to appear on live broadcasts after a set time of the early evening (seemingly to protect) there really doesn’t seem to be any barriers holding back the very essence in which idols may be presented in official publications.

The very existence of the acronym “U” (“Under”) which precedes various ages of idols to categorize them into age says a lot in this regard and while cinema continues to feel a form of “censorship” which is all but non existent in other countries, it has lended itself to be leaked into other avenues of artistic expression…most notably the anime market where the extreme is often pushed to “adult” standards. Whether or not this is really a form of suppression on their society can be left up to debate but whilst this contradiction remains, what continues to be true is the unbarred presentation and expression of idols in Japan.

UTB has gradually grown into somewhat of a more mature publication over the years but it remains to keep a younger audience as well as many of its idols and content are catering towards its youthful audience. In recent issues a distinct change towards an older audience is clearly visible in their inclusion of much more mature pictorial as well as older idols making regular appearances….many in much more “spicier” photo shoots.

Fukudome Yuko appeared in Young Jump as well as UTB issues just a few years ago and going from a simple pictorial to her debut pb what I found surprising at first glance at its arrival is the cover which you see to the right. It really wasn’t what I was expecting and while here in the U.S. an idol of Yuko’s age being presented in such a sexy way would be unheard of…….(although we do have those youth beauty pageants) in Japan it’s clearly the norm as it’s notably a thriving market in their society from past to the present.

A very nice surprise was seeing that Yukochan signed her entire set of first pressings of her debut pb…..(photo: above;top left)..as it adds a most personalized touch to those not fortunate enough to attend a premier book signing in person in Japan. =)

Yukochan’s most striking feature has to be her *smile*~ (￣▽￣)…….free of apprehension or pretense she has one of the most beautifully natural *smiles* ever I think!……….matched but perhaps not exceeded! =) She’s really really ＊pretty＊ and on her DVD her fun personality really comes out as well~! I was thinking that she’s a bit thin but I won’t be one to judge as I could probably use a few more pounds, or at least I’ve been told (._.;)! It’s grown into sort of a running joke aimed at me by co-workers…..”you really should eat something!” 😮

Hmmm…my (VOX neighborhood) *cuddle* post is just below but doesn't this photo of Ume above make you so want to *cuddle*?!!! o(*´∀｀)o゛♥ While as fans we each are privileged to watch our favorite idols grow in the spotlight…..and now more than ever in a very gradual state as between commercial releases, FC releases, event footage, and a barrage of seemingly non stop photographs which document their lives with a seamless blanket of visuals, there are still poignant moments when you have to stop and say to yourself how stunning they've grown…."they're really growing up aren't they." =)

Just the aesthetics of C-ute's latest single (just released on April 15th) gives a striking vision of youth's eventual turn to maturity as every member…..I'm not quite sure of how to describe it but they all appear so much more mature somehow since the last time I saw them in a recent Kindai photo shoot. In particular Chisa, Maimai and Ume have my eyes seeing them in such a different light as I opened up this release and viewed their photographs within. Nakki seemed to leap out quite early in this sense awhile back while both Maimichan and Airiin whether it be a product of their up front presentation which has been C-ute's formula for awhile now, it's a much more subtle change.

The six member lineup does bring a sadness to me and while Kannachan's absence was announced awhile back, here I find the reality of its impact setting in as something just doesn't look right seeing a "much" smaller member lineup here…..C-ute truly isn't complete without her presence. I *hope* for her speedy recovery and return to occur as soon as possible.

The LE includes a bonus DVD containing the "Dance Shot Version" of the pv while the both LE & RE first press releases include serial numbered even cards….valid only in Japan. While the accompanying pv DVD single is still a few days away…..a "dance shot version" will nearly almost always win over a "close up version" so I'm thankful for its inclusion here~! =)

The creamy pink colors of "Bye Bye Bye!" give the impression of a "softer" release however as one should never judge and interior by its exterior the title track is much to the contrary as Tsunku has penned for C-ute a stong mid tempo R&B track.

Like the song itself the pv's atmosphere is most definitely heavily flavored with a distinct retro feel down to the lighting and simplistic set design. "Bye Bye Bye!" is channeling a funky 70's groove while the prominent keyboard riffs give the song a bit of an 80's twist. What's impressive about much of C-ute's latter catalog is how much their individual releases show musical/member growth coming in leaps and bounds from one to the next….here though "Bye Bye Bye!" in this sense is much more of a lateral move in musical terms as the song itself is complimentary to their already establised catalog while not necessary adding anything remarkably new. For several reasons….their earlier single "LA LA LA shiawase no uta" comes to mind…….that's not to say though that "Bye Bye Bye!" isn't an attractive track in its own right as I do find it to be quite the catchy *boogie wonderland*~. ＾　＾

As always with C-ute their dance choreography is top notch as even Momusu has nothing on them in this aspect I think at this point….and each member's accomplished state lends to what I imagine to be a choreographer *dream*~ as difficulty or very complex routines create no barriers for C-ute as individuals or as a whole~.

The coupling with track "Go Go Go!" creates a sort of irony in the very sense of musical♪♪ growth as I while it may not have the same type of "bright" and readily visible impact of the title track which suits singles……I think it's by far a superior composition, it being rich with harmonies and vocal layers showcasing C-ute's vocal range and *feel* which are for the most part absent in "Bye Bye Bye!" it being a much more straight forward composition~…although not to fault the title track as it is was it is for a reason. =)

And the song♪♪ itself ("Go Go Go!") is much more in the vein of showcasing Tsunku's diverse creativity and ability to write music which transcends musical eras as he merges together the old and new in his always masterful craft~.

Hmmm…after Shirow at Wotaku Now! posted his *cuddle* list after his actual H!P member ranking…I was sort of hesitant to do this at first…but then I thought I would show my real list and then this sort of…….gooey fantasy……..girl/girl list for Shirow! XD

Um….well please bear with me as the list will be totally make pretend…oh no not the first list as this one is totally legit! ………(゜∀゜)………。♥….but the second one………I'm just fantasizing no I mean being hypothetical here~! XD

Okay I don't actually have fantasies about her of course late at night while I'm lying in bed with just an oversized T-shirt and underwear on…….(。ーωー。)? Seriously kidding here!!!!!!! 😛

2. Yajima Maimi……she's like an "anime" girl brought to life, perfect beauty…flawless skin…envious cheekbones…..amazing figure……cute voice~………OMG I'm beginning to sound like I'm in ~♥~ with her…(u_u*)!

4. Fukakyon's *puppy eyes* could lure anyone I think into submission I think and she just has the cutest of voices out there~! If you've watched her in dramas this will probaby make more sense for sure…but then again this is just a hypothetical *fantasy* right?…….I'm beginning to feel a little *tingly*..what could this mean? XD

5. Surely if Gakisan were *there* wouldn't Aichan be also? XD I just thinking in terms of getting more for a single *fantasy*……OMG it's late..what am I saying or doing?
