~MOMOIRO CLOVER Z (MCZ) is set to kick off their Trans-America Ultra Live Tour beginning right here in Hawaii~!!

It’s true! From Japan to Hawaii then onto LA. with a final stop in New York! Momoclo is kicking off their U.S. live tour right here in Hawaii and although I’d admittedly had gotten into them around their debut but haven’t followed the group as of late, this is still most exciting news for J-Music loving fans who haven’t been able to travel to Japan to see them! I mean even here in Hawaii we’ve not gotten a whole lot of J-music love when it comes to popular artists with some of our too far and few between concerts here including notably in the past…. artists such as Amuro Namie, Vamps, Utada Hikaru, Vamps and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu to name a few. Of course there was the age of Morning Musume and other Hello! Project artists being here like every year, however those events were exclusively fan club events so they weren’t open to the public. So yes this is BIG news indeed!!

Momoiro Clover Z are: Kanako Momota, Shiori Tamai, Ayaka Sasaki, Momoka Ariyasu andMomoclo & KISS Reni Takagi and their debut goes back to 2008, so there are without question a most established group. Over the years Momoclo has become synonymous with Japanese culture reaching even outside of the realm of music but still perhaps they are most beloved for their collaboration efforts with the world of anime which number quite a few, but I have to say that their collaboration with Pokemon specifically couldn’t have been timed any better!! Hmm…I do wonder if the seemingly zillions of fans of the recent Pokemon game gone mobile craze will find an interest in Momoclo? Quite possible right =)! And additionally in the genre there’s Momoclo with their notable version of the theme for the anime “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal”, and also their collaboration for the main theme for the film “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’”, so when it comes to anime and some of the big hitters which have transcended into the Western culture, Momoclo surely has them covered. Not to mention that Momoclo even collaborated with legendary rock group KISS =O! Now there’s an odd coupling for the ages whom made it work! =)

So here’s Momoclo’s Ultra Live Tour Schedule:

New York- November 19th (Saturday)

The Wiltern is pretty close to me. I am seeing Perfume there I think next month or early September? So exciting! Babymetal was just there this past Friday. Seems to be the place for Japanese artists to play in LA these days. Good for Momo!

    • Lucky to be in L.A. as it’s no doubt a destination point for artists! I would be much more in tune to going if this had happened a few years ago while my interest in them was much higher, still we get so little of these events here so it’s definitely exciting nonetheless. The Repubik is a smaller venue with a much more intimate atmosphere but it may have been even better had they chosen our Waikiki Shell…same place Amuro Namie performed at. But still it’s probably a bit more ideal than our now defunct Pipeline Cafe which is where I saw Hikki perform at as that place was not only tiny but it had it’s height disadvantages as in if you’re on the shorter side as I am it was a challenge to see her throughout the show…well without someone’s shoulders as help! =)

Ehhhh, you should come to LA. It’s not that bad of a trip from Hawaii, I imagine. It would be fun to watch them at the Wiltern, and take in some of the other stuff here in LA! Seriously, think about it. You have time to plan the trip! We could finally meet up and nerd out on J-culture!

    RE: “collaboration with Pokemon”
    Good for them.
It does not have anything to do with Pokemon Go, but the new (real) Pokemon game due out in November is going to take place in Hawaii you should know. They will call it the “Alola region”

    • Aloha region? …a Hawaii themed video game? That sounds amazing! I can’t believe how many people are now solidly hooked on the Pokemon Go game, myself….I’m afraid of getting addicted to such a game =P.

I have not used the Pokemon Go app much, as it is difficult to do all the walking as I am still rehabbing the robot knee. I am mainly waiting for the (real) game this November.

Here is a pretty cute commercial for it. A Japanese kid moves to Hawaii. (I love that fly-in shot of the big crater from an oblique angle.) Anyway, he wants to make friends with the other kids. His mom buys him the new game on release date. The new game is even based in the Hawaii of the Pokemon universe.

I noticed that there was not a dad with the Japanese family. Perhaps Mom is a single mom … has not had a man around for a long time … maybe she needs a Pokemon expert (cough) to help guide the young lad in the ways of Pokemon and America. The Mom hasn’t had the touch of a man in a long time … perhaps I should stay for dinner, she asks?
… oh, and my mind wandered again …

It is a nice commercial. At time 2:20 his name is revealed as Shonei, but he lists his favorite food as “croquette” – but isn’t than a game not a type of food?

Yes, I enjoyed their collaboration with KISS, although I have not listened KISS records much since I was 17.

Kanako (giggling) to Gene Simmons: Mr. Simmons-san, would you please stick out your tongue for us?
Gene Simmons: Oh … I can’t sweetie, the floor is too dirty.
    : )

    • He used to have this reality show which was actually really entertaining, he and his girlfriend or is it now wife? as they were supposed to get married or ELSE at the ending of the show but I missed it xD…but anyway they have a most interesting relationship to put it lightly!! Gene Simmons is also such a businessman, I was impressed! Now as for the tongue there’s like so many thoughts that go through one’s head…true it’s sooooo long and I can only imagine what it’d be capable of, well what’s a girl to think?! =)
