大原櫻子「大好き♡」This is why I ♡ music (*´∀`*) ♪♪!

Music should move you, make you feel….

and every now and then you come across an extraordinary song, one which your heart will always long to hear no matter the days gone by~.

HOWEVER.

It’s the coupling w/ song “Tremolo Rain” that which I speak of here… but more on that a bit later!

Ohara Sakurako Daisuki singles types A & B

“Daisuki♡!~!” : To like, to love someone (or something) was one of the very first words my dear Grandmother taught me and I’ll never forget that her initial context was exactly which you’d say to a boy…. you know if your feelings were deep and true ^^*.

And so my copies of Ohara Sakurako’s now fifth single finally arrived (released on June 1st) and getting both A and B types were a must!! ..as each contains a music video exclusively, plus their making of clips! Sakurako~chan continues to grow as an artist’s artist as here she co-penned the main title track’s lyrics which are just perfect~* times like a zillion!! Did I mention the whole love message of “Daisuki” =P…. but in any case both lead songs are not only of dynamically different genres as reflected by their accompanying MV styles, but with this single you also receive two of the much more “director-friendly” clips, as the verbal directions to Sakurako~chan are as about as wide open and candid as I’ve seen to date where the camera lens really provides that sort of fly on the wall insider view for fans. Really cool!

Now the image at the very top of this post isn’t from the new single as I scanned it from this latest issue of Shinko Music’s “GIGS” magazine which “coincidentally” arrived @ the same time =). It features a very cool and informative salute to female musicians and headlining here of course is none other than covergirl Sakurako~chan♡.

A love at first listen upbeat rock ballad and there’s a real sense of Sakurako~chan’s heart being poured out here as she performs her very own lyrics (co-penned!). A lovely blend of acoustic piano, driving rhythm section, nostalgic guitar crunch (love the upstrokes during the verse sections….) and did ya notice? Harpsichord? Or at least it’s a simulated one, hopefully a real one though as it’s not very often that one makes its way into a lovely pop song =). And while on the exterior a harpsichord has more or less a piano’s look, inside the keys are plucked rather than being hammered onto as with a piano… creating this most unique and amazing sound!

And here you can strum along as you learn the guitar chords for “Daisuki.”

Aside from this music video being absolute visual bliss~♥!! I mean check out the post production H2O madness that’s going on here via editing magic!!! This song “Tremolo Rain” represents why I LOVE music!~! To begin with this song’s construction is hook~line~~>sinker magic in itself from its opening swaying bass lines which acts like this great big cradle which then transcends into some jazzy bits later, to those high up above chiming of notes ringing out… next cue in that wonderful bouncy piano riff all which lead up to that “tip – tip- tap –….” euphoria of a chorus is there ever was one!~! Add in those timely snaps/claps and there you have it! ^^* And then of course that amazing and nuance filled voice which is Sakurako~chan’s greatest instrument of them all. Really “Tremolo Rain” should have headlined this single I think as it’s simply a perfect 10♥ (*´∀`*) ♪♪!!

And with that, without question “Tremolo Rain” does indeed receive….

And YES! there’s a B-Side song too!

~Ohara Sakurako “Step” mp3~

A song like “Step” reminds me to add the “J-rock” category to Ohara Sakurako posts as I tend to just place her music into the J-pop category albeit her catalog of musical genres has far exceeded those boundaries really since her debut. The guitars remind me of 90’s rock and particularly during those melodic single note melodies, never a bad thing!! Overall a tight and simply sweet rock tune which proves once again that rock need not be screamed or shouted haha kidding =P and I really love how Sakurako~chan’s voice transitions to a quick and subtle falsetto as her vocal nuances continue to grow from release to release as she continues to become this incredible artist…. oh wait! she already is one!! ^^

    • The sparkly one has a sort of “I wanna be a Les Paul” shape to it =P…. and you gotta love that Sakurako~chan’s acoustic is a custom made special model just for her, a nice touch with her name being written across the highest frets =). Any thoughts on either song? I really think that “Tremolo Rain” is superior and just one of those make you feel good type of songs!~! “Daisuki” is lovely too of course and Sakurako~chan just continues to get better and better as an artist.

GREAT post!!! Thank you! I really like Daisuki, but for me I perfer Daisuki instead of Tremolo Rain, but TR is good as well. You didn’t write about the b-side Step, I would like to hear your opinion on that song.
Are you excited for the new album V? The promo song “Sign” is up on her Youtube, and is so diferent from what she’s done, very beautiful and sad at the same time, though I think it would fit more a winter theme instead of summer.

    • I often wonder if visitors ever listen to mp3’s here …? I do include them at times and so okay I’m gonna add it to this post soon. =) U~n both songs are super catchy and so well written!! “Daisuki” no doubt is every bit as infectiously addictive a song as “Tremolo Rain”, still TR’s upbeat groove and swing has gotten me the most excited about this single. ^^

Ohhhh can’t wait to here “Sign!!” I pretty much stopped trying to watch J-music on Youtube ever since the U.S. got blocked out by most of the record companies it seems =(…. I wonder if Sakurako~chan’s channel actually will play here? They’re really killing their own brand and chances at branching out towards new fans by making their videos not play here =/ …just confuses me really as I know many fans whom became big fans of J-music via videos on Youtube and elsewhere and probably never would have discovered those artists had they not been able to watch them. Sounds like a melancholy song perhaps with “Sign?” I did of course pre-order Sakurako~chan’s upcoming album and am just as excited for it to arrive~!~! =D

I don’t know why they do that to the Youtube channels. I can’t access Nishino Kana’s, but I can with Ohara Sakurako’s, Fujiwara Sakura’s and MACO’s (the ones I often visit). It’s weird that some japanese artists’ youtube don’t work, but others work. Maybe it’s a Label policy?
I often get quite angry with Nishino Kana’s because she’s my favourite japanese singer and her youtube doesn’t work for me.

I wonder if Sakurako will release another Music Video for her upcoming album. Her album HAPPY had two promo videos, so I hope this time we’ll get two as well. But I LOVE Sign, very pretty song and the Music Video looks like a Movie.

        • It appears to be the labels doing this, and it’s really only reducing potential fans to knowing their artists, puzzling really =/.

Both DVDs for album types A & B appear to be live concert footage, each having different song performances on them. I too would love more music videos~♥ ^^ Looking forward to watching “Sign.” ^^
