Our once in a one thousand years idol~♥!! Hashimoto Kanna has just released her very first solo single last month on the 23rd! And its title track is the theme song for a full length feature movie in which she’s also starring in as her very first lead role has been realized!! In a nutshell Kanna~chan plays Hoshi Izumi, a high school senior whom once headed a small yazuka group who is now leading a normal life with school and work with all of its day to day challenges…. until the sudden death of one of her classmates leads her back to her yazuka background as the safety of the city lay in peril.
Although I do prefer single type B’s cover artwork (seen here atop), here I opted for type A as it includes the title track’s music video on its accompanying DVD. First press extra is a randomly included photo (1 out of 5 types).
You may be wondering why Devil-Kanna~chan??
The second coupling with song is titled “Akuma na Kanna” ….however I’m refraining from adding those songs to this post as it’ll keep something more to look forward to when you purchase this single too =).
Sure you most likely know Kanna~chan as being a member of the idol group Rev. from DVL, or perhaps from that single image of her gone viral awhile back during a live fan event or maybe you recall her hilariously quirky restroom time thingy??…. as well that one would be pretty hard to forget ^^*
And then of course there was her shashinshuu debut “Little Star~Kanna 15” which I scanned and featured here back in late 2014. You can click~* here to revisit that shashinshuu or check it out in case you may have missed it.
~Hashimoto Kanna “Sailor fuku to kikanjuu” (mv)~
What I love about this music video is that it’s part “movie making of” with a few behind the scenes glimpses, part Kanna~chan RAGE!!! as her machine gun toting character is revealed, as well as it being… well an actual music video with Kanna~chan waxing the lyrics poetic as she walks along a city’s landscape. “Sailor fuku to kinkanjuu” is a love at first listen, a gentle mid-tempo ballad which fittingly oozes a cinematic flair with an array of tear~drop piano notes cascading gorgeously against a lively whirlwind of orchestration along with an ever growing urgency in melodies and rhythm. haha was that a bit too cheesy? =P Well this song is that ear~catching and readily likeable I think! =)
Albeit it’s featured more as a movie tie-in single for Kanna~chan it’s still really her solo debut single, and now let’s hope for much more coming from this adorable and very talented idol with more solo works in the future!!
