Rainbow Wahine defeat Penn State!!!!

2015 University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Volleyball Team

With the match just completed a few minutes ago, our very own University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Volleyball team has upset the two-time defending champions Penn State in a pretty dominating fashion!!!! The UH Rainbow Wahine were one of just three unseated teams to reach the sweet 16 round which got underway today! Last weekend the UH Rainbow Wahine traveled to Texas to take on TCU in the opening round and after a big scare which they fought through to victory, UH was much more focused in their second round win over Texas A&M.

And now today’s regional round of the sweet sixteen matchup with Penn State was held in Des Moines Iowa where Hawaii brought their (regular season) top ranked “roofing co.” (blocks) to play as they also dominated Penn State in kill percentage recording .389 (54 kills) for the match versus just .228 (42 kills) for Penn State while committing just 10 errors for the entire match, most impressive!~! This also marked the very first time that Hawaii was able to defeat Penn State and may I say again that they were the two-time defending national champions!! The final scores in the UH Rainbow Wahine’s sweep YES sweep of Penn State was 25-22/ 27-25/25-16. And now our UH Rainbow Wahine are off to the elite eight!!!, where they’ll meet Minnesota ….match set for tomorrow 2:20 pm HST. I’m still a bit hyper as this win was so awesome!!!!!!!!

        • Our UH Volleyball Team has been the one consistently great team for so many years now and really they’ve been the single bright spot for the most part as our football team hasn’t been so good for some time now although we do excel in other college sports such as girls softball and men’s volleyball and basketball =),

i really dont like soccer hahaha its totally without meaning for me @.@
maybe because they play for money not for the country or because they like it

in the volley and other small sports you see they do it because they love it at least

Oh and volleyball’s sooooooooo fast paced!!! One of the very best team sports to watch for sure!~! =)

                    • Yay!! blessed~*~~* with a high metabolism!! We’re lucky like that =)! I mean I do get enough exercise but just not the sports way at the moment as I haven’t played tennis or soccer for quite some time =/.

Un! seems so unfair to have to guard such a wide space all by oneself!! =O And yet the scoring is typically so low so I guess it all works okay ^^.

                    • Tennis is GREAT!! I mean anyone can play no matter your height or gender and you just need to find a partner whose level of play is near to yours but really you can rally with anyone for practice but for matches it’s much more fun if everyone’s skill level is about the same for the most part. Plus it’s such great exercise!!! Is it summertime there? We’re now in our winter albeit Hawaii doesn’t get very cold at all =P. But it’s really wonderful sleeping weather here these days!! =D

  2. @ Ivan,
You mean there aren’t any free tennis courts there? =( Like public tennis courts? Mmm… this past summer was really hot here! =/ It’d be in the high 80’s on most days although with our high humidity here it really feels much warmer.

      • Ugh! The warmth and humidity is not good for one’s hair =/ and sweating just while sitting is not a pleasant affair but really a part of our summers here.

That’s sad as sports should be easily accessible for everyone =(.

          • Ugh! sounds like hot and humid weather there? I hope relief comes soon with much cooler temperatures. Ohhhhhh YES the piano!! If only I were ambidextrous LOL as my left hand in no way would help me in learning the piano =P. I type with both hands like every other person but when it comes to a musical keyboard I have no talent for it it seems xD. Violin is a beautiful instrument, difficult to learn I’ve heard!
