Just a quick primer here just in case you’re new to Bistro SMAP ^^:
SMAP’s Bistro format follows a dining experience where there’s no set menu to limit guests so they may order as they wish ~* to their heart’s delight =). Nakai-kun acts as host and main personality driving the conversations and overall flow of the show while the remaining four SMAP members are paired up in varying combinations (teams; with the exception of some specials where the guys are matched in single chef vs. chef duos). It is also a long running staple of the show for Shingo-kun to do something amusing when the opposing team’s dish(es) are met with declarations of “oishii!!” by the guest of honor for the evening and much of his hilariously playful antics are usually directed at the special guest like for example if the guest were to be a singer, Shingo-kun may be likely to then appear mid meal actually dressed as them singing one of their popular songs and NO it matters not one bit if the guest just happens to be female! (。ーωー。)笑。On this particular episode Bistro guest Rinka is hysterically surprised by Shingo-kun’s impersonation of her J~pop appearance (literally!) way back in the early nineties which comes complete a lookalike wardrobe and wig…(^q^)!
And so after both teams have presented the guest’s meal/dish(es) of choice, the guest of honor must then decide which team’s food they preferred~♥!!…. not always an easy choice by any means and to the winners then goes the spoils of victory which is a customary kiss~♡ upon the cheeks of the winning chefs =).
While Rinka’s career is best known for her modeling, her career has also spanned the likes of acting, CM~girl, shashinshuu-model and of course as aforementioned, pop star!~! In all Rinka has released four singles with her vocal debut coming in 1993 with her latest pop release arriving in 1997.
Along with her modeling which continues to this day, her most constant passion has been her published works with her very latest title “MY NAME IS… RINKA A to Z DICTIONARY” arriving on bookstands this past March 8th which directly coincided with her appearance on this very episode of Bistro SMAP which aired the very next day on March the 9th.
While Rinka’s gorgeous looks which are born of French/Japanese genes have changed over the years, her current appearance I can’t help but implore the imagining of morphing the beautiful likes of one……
..Or is my imagination just plain bonkers?? (。ーωー。)笑！
In that case I totally blame it all on Scotty as he was most likely playing with his teleportation device again and somehow managed to morph~it~all~up =P!
(Looks like Scotty’s been drinking again… =O)
~Bistro SMAP 3/9/15 FT. Rinka~
Rinka’s order for some “oshare na ramen~♥!~!….” can be likened to something both stylish and yummy, you know a perfect pairing for a model who’s life has been the essence of that very sentiment of beauty and charisma and you know the guys are so very capable of raising the roof on one of Japan’s most beloved cuisines ^^.
Now do note the immediate chemistry between Nakai-kun and Rinka as it’s noted that she did appear right here on Bistro SMAP, albeit it was over 5 years ago way back on January the 25th, 2010. And with a less demanding schedule it’s no surprise that Rinka opens up about just how nervous she was coming in today for the show. I actually watched this episode four times already as you can’t help but constantly crack~up at the oh~so candid~♥ no holds barred exchanges between Nakai-kun and Rinka right from the onset of this episode! =) Much of the dialogue concerns Rinka’s now motherly role and home status in life as well as married life Awwww o(*´∀｀)o゛！～！And Rinka just has this gorgeous glow about her as she looks absolutely amazing!!!! and she’s by far one of the most candidly animated and fun guests I’ve seen to date ….not kidding!~! =)
Now the mid portion of the episode has Rinka presenting a couple of curious item quizzes: the first involving a rather smartly designed salad jar which has everyone wanting one!!! …while the second item is revealed to be an arts & crafts must have. The mid segment closes with the guys all vying to describe in detail (at times!) what their personal “(adult) date plan” would entail which ends with Rinka teaching the guys a thing or two about love-relations in this regard as well as needing to choose the plan which she finds suited best~♥.
And now most importantly, the food!!!! Now with Rinka’s prized kisses on the line it’s Team Kimutaku/ Tsuyoshi vs. Team Shingo-kun/ Goro and amongst all of the animated banter and presentations between the Chef-Teams, Shingo-kun’s all to funny full wardrobe change as he “becomes” J-Pop star Rinka from waaaaaay back during her singer debut actually at one point causing a cracked-up Rinka to fall to the floor =)! …..there comes the main topic of discussion which ultimately had the balance of which ramen would win on the line =O and that ingredient?? It’s “Pakuchii” ~~> “Panchi~nani??” or rather “coriander?” “cilantro?”…a Mediterranean parsley it turns out?~? Now keep a close watch on Rinka’s every nuance and yum~or~not~to~yum reactions as pakuchii takes full center stage here as a couple of the guys proceed to partake in her ramen broth returning with hilarious reactions to it all themselves…(^q^)! And then it’s decision time for Rinka to choose which Team wins the bistro chef-off, so will it be Team Kimutaku/ Tsuyoshi or will it be Team Shingo-kun/ Goro who’s Umm pakuchii has become a star of this episode itself! ??? Well you’ll just have to watch to find out ^^!
I’m afraid I went a “little” cap~happy =P with this episode however in my defense Rinka’s like every expression throughout this entire episode was as yum~♥ as ramen itself and you do know how much I do love ramen right: ヽ、(。´▽`。)ノ。。！！ やっほぃ♪ ー♥♥♥！Plus it captures just how fun this episode from wall-to-wall truly is!~!
