~「TGIF!」Idol♡s Unzipped on way back Fridays (volume 87)

Idols unzipped...

Happy Aloha~♡ Friday ^^!~!~!!

It’s been a week gone by since I was last able to spend some time here @ the blog amidst the past hour~weary work week  (゜ロ゜ノ)ノ !!、  but I do have some fun news for tonight’s installment of “Unzipped…” as this past Monday whilst searching for some odds and ends for an upcoming Ribbon~♡ post which is already well underway, I did come upon a mysteriously untitled “blank” VHS tape with its little protection tab removed and so as curiosity would have it I felt the need to pop it into my VHS~~> DVD recorder (mind you the only working VHS in existence here!! =P) and lo and behold coincidentally!!! it turned out to be an old Smap X Smap Bistro episode where the special guest of honor on that day just happened to be Nagasaku Hiromi!!!!!!!! I mean, what are the odds that I’m desperately searching for Ribbon stuff to help finish up their post and during the search I re-discover former Ribbon member herself Hiromi~chan!!!!!! hidden away all of these years on this ancient VHS tape LOL =)! So the very next plan of action was to transfer said Smap Bistro episode onto DVD and then proceed with encoding the completed file to an upload~friendly format which WP is agreeable with. And voila!…. it’s “instant” idol nostalgia born!

\(^o^)/ ☆ !!!!

Ribbon

Now if you’re not familiar with the late 80’s to mid 90’s idol group Ribbon not to worry as the aforementioned Ribbon post is already well underway in the background here so to speak and so while all of their musical good~stuff is on its way here, why not in the meantime we spend a tiny portion of this evening (or whatever time it is now where you live =) ) getting to know former~Ribbon girl Nagasaku Hiromi~chan♡ a little better through the art of candid conversation all the while spotlighting a life long favorite food of hers as revealed on this episode of Smap x Smap Bistro! Not to mention how it’s all highlighted as well through the specialty gourmet chef skills of those Smap guys we so LOVE and WANT to have cook for us too!!!! ^^.

Oh and by the way Hiromi~chan’s♡ posed in the center in the photo just above back in her early days in Ribbon, and below taken from her shashinshuu “UK. ASAGAN” from which I scanned just a tiny bit awhile back for this blog.

Nagasaku Hiromi

~Ribbon “Be my diamond!” (pv)~

And for just a little nibble here’s Ribbon’s music video for their single “Be my diamond!” and I’ve specifically chosen this song and video as it features Nagasaku Hiromi as the (chorus) lead vocalist….. and hers is an amazing voice! ^^

Ever ponder what dish, particular ingredients or dishes you’d order if you ever had the awesome opportunity to appear as guest on Smap x Smap Bitro?? I mean the guys REALLY can literally cook anything it seems as we’ve long witnessed over the years of this very long and successful running program! Also you’re going to have to pardon my overuse of the (!) exclamation point in particular here as I’ve already used it waaaaaaaay too much shamelessly but needless to say its over abundance of appearances here is truly due to just how excited and happy I am about re-discovering this long lost Smap Bistro episode here which well features a true Hall of Fame Idol♡ group girl, make that ex-idol group girl…..you know if there ever was one! YES Ribbon was one of the great ones forever stamped in idol history and so without further ado let’s roll the episode! =)

SmapxSmap Bistro

Now if you’re not familiar with Bistro SMAP here’s just a little primer on how these episodes go:

SMAP’s Bistro format follows a dining experience where there’s no set menu to limit guests so they may order as they wish ~* to their heart’s delight =). Nakai-kun acts as host and main personality driving the conversations and overall flow of the show while the remaining four SMAP guys are paired up in varying combinations (teams). It is also a long running staple of the show for Shingo-kun to do something amusing when the opposing team’s dish(es) are met with declarations of “oishii!!” by the guest of honor for the evening and much of his hilariously playful antics are usually directed at the special guest like for example if the guest were to be a singer, Shingo-kun may be likely to then appear mid meal actually dressed as them singing one of their popular songs and NO it matters not one bit if the guest just happens to be female! (。ーωー。)笑。An amusing thing does occur in tonight’s episode as if you watch Hiromi~chan’s♡ reaction to Shingo-kun’s “oishii…” antics it appears that she’s not familiar with this reoccurring theme of the show and to that it’s doubly amusing that even after Kimutaku briefly explains…. Shingo-kun declares yet that it’s “his job” to do so LOL =P!

And so after both teams have presented the guest’s meal/dish(es) of choice, the guest of honor must then decide which team’s food was better…. not always an easy choice by any means and to the winners then goes the spoils of victory which is a customary kiss~♡ upon the cheeks of the winning chefs =). Now if it’s a male guest(s) of honor you may be wondering?, then the winning chefs are typically presented with wonderful gifts brought to Smap x Smap by said guest although on some occasions….. um you never know what’ll happen and I’ll leave it @ just that…(^q^)!

Does it look like it’s coming out of the bottle? Not really? haha it’s the best I could do on such “short” notice ( ̄▽ ̄) ….

furikake....♥!

furikake....

Now while the original airing date of this episode remains unknown to me as the ancient VHS tape I found this episode on earlier this week, was strangely unmarked =P. Huh? I have no idea what sort of brain-cramp may have caused such an absent minded debacle (-∀-`)。 But one thing is for sure and that thing is THAT doesn’t everyone just LOVE♥ furikake?!! Right?!! I mean it’s total YUM!!!!!!! It’s basically a topping typically meant to be sprinkled upon rice for amazingly yummy flavor with its key ingredients being dried seaweed, sesame seeds, sugar and salt however furikake comes in a wide~wide array of varieties many of which also include dried fish or flakes (bonito!) as well as many many other yummy ingredients! It’s like the best friend~♡ like EVER for your rice!!!!!! If you haven’t yet you really need to try some today (*´∀`) うれしー♥♥♥!

So anyway the reason for mentioning at “minor” length the yummy~isms of furikake is that in this Bistro episode Hiromi~chan orders furikake as a rather ingredient versus a particular dish for the boys to whip up for her ala gourmet style and it’s sooooooo cute how Nakai-kun instantly remarks on just how “lonely” it’d be for furikake to be served all alone (´∩`*)。 So Hiromi~chan chimes in vegetables in general which gives the guys a whole lot of leeway in whatever dishes they decide to create for her! And whenever the order is particularly this vague in nature it’s always fun to see the creativity dig in as instant brainstorming meets the SmapxSmap kitchen on it’s feet and running without hesitation.

Now here’s a fun little thing we like to do whenever watching Smap Bistro as we’ll pause the video just before the guest of honor declares the winning team (chef) to see if we’ve read the guest’s yummy reactions to each teams’ dishes correctly. Now it sounds simple enough right? However I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stumped completely in guessing the incorrect team (*≧∀≦)☆★ ↓!

So anyway, sit back and relax, get hungry and please partake in this wonderfully fun and most candid episode of Smap Bistro featuring former Ribbon girl Nagasaku Hiromi~chan♡…. and do note just how awesome the chemistry is between herself and host Nakai-kun, I mean that they soooooooooo relate to each other that it’s nearly uncanny here! Bon appetit~ ^^.

I’m finally catching up with your always amazing posts… I’m very happy to watch more map bistro. It’s amazing that everyday (and some not-so-everyday) ingredients are magicked into such wonderful meals. What’s amazing is the timing is always perfect. I wonder how much preparation the guys do to have the food ready on time. Nacho-kun is shy at first, but it’s not long before she’s opened up. And she eats so neatly, doesn’t she.
Furikake (which autocorrect turned into ‘Fruitcake’) sounds interesting. It should be readily available here as most of the big food stores carry a range of World ingredients. It’s even available on Amazon for about $4: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sanchi-Furikake-Japanese-Seasoning-65g/dp/B002E2K278 I’ll look for some tomorrow.
As for my own chosen Bistro menu, I’d love the guys to cook me something vegetarian (eggs and cheese allowed), such as the asparagus and cauliflower combo in this episode, but preferably something that looks completely unlike anything I could rustle up, so that my first reaction would be ‘Huh?’ closely followed, after tasting, by ‘Oishii!’
What an excellent blank tape discovery. Thank you for sharing. Now I want to go and do some cooking.

    • Hello~♡ Hisashiburi desu ne ^^!

There’s a lot in the works right now and you may have noticed that I’m doing a bit of anime posts now although just on Saturdays. I have long wondered if the guests have a mirror in front of themselves in order to see themselves eat as the guests are usually exquisite eaters …..still Miyazawa Rie takes top prize when it comes to elegant eating manners =). Nakai-kun and Hiromichan really hit it off really well and their conversing was wonderful fun!

Ohhhh do try furikake and there are sooooo many varieties out there to be experienced so don’t be discouraged if a style or two isn’t to your liking ^^. Over rice would be its standard use but it’s a pretty versatile topping, cute that Hiromichan chose a topping here.

Sounds like a wonderful order for the guys to whip up!!!! Kimutaku loves his Italian dishes so you may want to partake in a bit of that too!

YES I was so excited to find this on a strangely unmarked tape of all places!!!!!

Just on a break now, gotta go back. Tonight’s Unzipped♡ is going to be extra special, please check it out on Saturday if you’re able to ….I think you’re gonna love it!~! Okay gotta go =(!

    • Just curious as to how did the furikake tasting go?…if you did get a chance to purchase some. Lots of varieties so if you didn’t yet come across one to the liking of your taste buds there’s still hope~* ^^.

It hasn’t happened yet, I’m afraid: my sense of taste is still not back following my virus! Saying that, I have used conventional sheets of dried seaweed in the last couple of days. Very tasty. There’s a nice variety that has wasabi added to it for extra heat. Hopefully I’ll get some furikake in the next couple of weeks.
