My Rurouni Kenshin trilogy set on Blu-ray.
From beloved manga to anime and then to the big screen, “Rurouni Kenshin” makes a solid case as one of the very best samurai genre sagas ever to be adapted from the fantasy pages into a full blown action packed cinematic gem!
Theatrically released between 2012~2014 “Rurouni Kenshin” is brought to live action in a now completed trilogy: “Rurouni Kenshin”, “Rurouni Kenshin Kyoto Inferno” and “Rurouni Kenshin The Legend Ends” all of which have seen both DVD and Blu-ray releases in both individual movie releases as well as complete box sets. Getting the Blu-ray complete trilogy box set is recommended!~! …as these films feature vibrant period sets, explosive effects along with some of the most dynamic fight choreography filmed to date! All of which would look much better in Blu-ray true HD.
(The following words are movie spoiler free and safe for all ages =)!)
Satou Takeru♥!~! is perfectly cast as the wandering swordsman legend “Himura Kenshin” whose bloody past as an assassin now hides a dark secret, one which has rebirthed himself as a wanderer whom swears to never kill again and while most darkened pasts likely come back to haunt oneself, this inevitable reality is met with deathly circumstances which progress and twist throughout the three movies. The story of “Rurouni Kenshin” takes place during the Meiji period of Japan, a time of the country’s industrial revolution where Japan’s economic, military and social relations saw major movements and changes as the country transcended from an isolated feudal society into its modern state. Much of the films underlying storylines are reflected in this very sense as the growing Western influences are set to make a stronghold all the while the ways of the samurai are ever nearing its extinction.
One day a second chance meeting occurs between Kenshin and “Kamiya Kaoru” (played by the gorgeous Takei Emi) as an act of oppressive government officials and Kaoru (whom has inherited her father’s Kendo school) cross paths bringing the mysterious and yet enlightened Kenshin into the lives of Kaoru, her family and her circle of life-long friends. Enter Udou Jin-e (played by Kikkawa Koji), a ruthless killer who has assumed Kenshin’s former and darker self with his previous identity as “Battousai”, a man hell bent on bringing Kenshin back into his former world of death and darkness. “Rurouni Kenshin” features numerous character developing sub-plots which help to add an additional aura of conflict, intensity and intrigue helping to enrich the story all the while never muddying the main storyline’s course. Also brought to light is Kenshin’s iconic facial cross-scar and how it came to be a never ending reminder or the man he used to be and his now life-long reasons for avoiding killing at all costs. Also Kenshin’s uniquely odd backwards blade aids to keep this will for life in check all the while remaining a means for defense, and yet will Kenshin be able to protect those he cares for most with his conflicted heart in despair as his surrounding menaces reach an inevitable and climatic fever-pitch?
“Rurouni Kenshin” features a pretty stellar cast and addition to the already aforementioned Satou Takeru, Takei Emi and Kikkawa Koji…also notable are the roles of Aoi Yu and Eguchi Yosuke whom I’m sure many out there are fans of! The sequels “Tokyo Inferno” and “The Legend Ends” adds to the cast of regulars, great performances by Fujiwara Tatsuya (who’s done many a memorable role!) along with a MOST MOST gush~worthy role by the icon himself Fukuyama Masaharu♥…I won’t spoil his character’s revealing here as it’s one of those OMG! moments in film that you just have to experience first hand and you’ll love and appreciate his being cast here so so soooo much….it’s pretty much genius! ^^.
I watched all the released ones :3

It was perfect how they would leave the viewer wanting more with the first two cliffhangers, and I must say the casting was equally perfect!. I thought that Satou Takeru was truly Kenshin brought to life and one could never go wrong with Takei Emi. As far as action films of this genre go it doesn’t get any better!!

yah i liked the cast, only yahiko stayed a little strange hahaha
i stay so happy when i see they make the Kenshin X Sano battle is one of the funny battles there haha
they make either the scene where kenshin hold sano to dont fall in the river hahaha
i think everythings stay really good in the movie, and besides the manga have some sureal action scene, the movie managed to make it simple actions and stay amazing yet.

Sanosuke’s character is great boisterous fun!!…and just seeing him wield such a gigantic weapon kinda reminded me of Cloud’s over~sized sword from FFVII =)! Amazing choreography too in that scene!
U~n! they really managed to capture all of that lightning quick and sometimes a bit over the top action sequences very well I so agree ^^.

i think everyone remember cloud when see a big sword like that one kkkkk
hope they continue with the series and release movies for the other parts of the manga 😛

And speaking of Cloud and his really REALLY big sword, I recently got the “complete” director’s cut of “FF Advent Children” on Blu-ray…I had the original movie version before but had read that the extended cut version includes some very worthwhile extra scenes and footage.
I think it’s going to be just the three films? A completed trilogy….though I feel exactly the same way you do as I’d love to see more movies from this manga no question! ^^

Un and some very revealing points of the plot are seen with the added scenes and dialogue. ..really Advent Children shouldn’t have been edited down and instead should have been released in its completed state. Un each time Aerith appeared on screen it was so emotional for me too and how Cloud was filled with so much guilt was so sad. Definitely see the complete version, it’s so worth it!

i dont know what version i watched hahahaha
yah its really sad scenes ;\
go search for it

The Complete version is about 26 minutes more or so….so it’s quite substantially longer but it never feels like you’re watching added extended scenes but rather the new scenes just feel so naturally blended in as if they should have always been there ^^. Did you know that they’re making a FFVII remake for the PS4? I hadn’t known about this earlier but that sounds amazing….I don’t currently own a PS4 but this one game alone may just warrant the need for one!~!

Well is strange why they get it out from the original one (i know is for comercial use) but is really unfair with the ones who brought the normal version
Yah i know long time they are promissing this hahah lets see if it really go come on ps4 or they go wait for ps5 kkkkk (anyway i cant play i dont have one ps4 😛 and probably never go have one 😛 )
oh if im you i buy a good pc and wait it release on Steam(dont know if you know steam) lot of console games are released there
is the big global place for games 😛

I believe the original film was only theatrically released in Japan and then the director’s cut became a straight to video release only….still I know what you mean as I now have two copies of the movie with the regular version not so likely to be watched again now that I’ve seen the Complete film.
A~h I wouldn’t be surprised!! I’ve been tempted by the PS4 but still haven’t gotten one either. Steam is like an online gaming service where you don’t need to physically purchase games? I’d not heard of it before…do you play on this site?

i go make a search for the directors cut here… maybe this is why i thinked the end is a little strange hahaha
yes steam is a server where they sell digital midia, so you can download and play everywhere u want after buy it.
They have a site and a pc app to manager this things(you need the app to play).
want i put the site here ? (dont know if you alow it 🙂 )
yes i play using it, seeing buy a console here in brasil is out of question because it so expensive, i play there (normaly lot of console games are released there) sometimes with a delay of 1 year and this things but sometimes they come first there than the console or in same time.
This year they released a lot of FF games includes FF13 and 13-2.
I think you go like it.

I will be slow to catch up, as
I had to buy the first DVD as Netflix will not carry them
: (
I had darn well better see a MAJOR LIP LOCK in the third movie and not disappointment me the way the end of the anime (season 3) did.

OH you will love this series!!!!!! I mean great storyline with an underlying historical background albeit fantasized a lot but in a good way and all of the action/fight choreography alone is well worth the purchase alone I think =)!
I will not “spoil” things for you with any of the conclusion but I hope you do enjoy them very much~!~! The casting of icon Fukuyama Masaharu was pure genius and just wait to see his amazing role…it’s so so perfect~*!~!

Wonderfully thought out casting with many Wow moments~* for sure and I think they really managed to capture the characteristics and essence of the characters quite well in this trilogy…..not to mention some of the most amazing action and fight choreography to hit the big screen in this or any genre ^^. Any fan of the manga I think should give it a go for sure =).

Hi~hi =)….I’m hoping you own a region free DVD player or if you go with the Blu-ray versions, Blu-ray players are typically region free =). YesAsia has the most fan friendly prices that I’ve seen so far and if you want subtitles keep away from the Japanese versions as they’re not subtitled.
The best priced trilogy right now would be the Hong Kong version $39.99 for all three films….DVD region 3, if your DVD player is region free then it’ll play perfectly (*´∀`) !

However everything is much more beautiful on Blu-ray!~! but as of now the best priced Blu-ray trilogy set is out of stock @ YesAsia….but hopefully they’ll be getting more soon:

Or you can buy them singly by checking in this link here, be sure to check subtitle information for each version first ^^.

With Blu-ray you won’t need to worry about region coding, and Philip just below is right as you can find each of the movies or the combined trilogy at Amazon. The Hong Kong Blu-ray trilogy however is still the best deal but is out of stock at the moment @ YesAsia =(. So if you don’t mind the higher cost, Amazon is a possibility ^^.
