Looks more like a Mayuyu~♡ fashion shoot doesn’t it? It’s all part of a tie-up campaign in collaboration with Avail fashion with one of the coupling with songs here taking center stage and there’s even an awesome fashion booklet!…. but more on that a bit later =).
Released last month on June 10th, Mayuyu’s much too long awaited new single “Deai no tsuzuki” was released in four editions and Cdjapan was nice enough to bundle all of them together making shopping for this single as easy as a single click~*…. that is of course if you’re indeed in love with Mayuyu like I “secretly” am (shhh…..!) and didn’t even bother ahead of time knowing what the extras were and if getting all four editions were indeed an essential purchase in getting them all =).
And for those Mayuyu~obsessed =P! fans it certainly turned out well worth investing in the four pack bundle as each edition’s DVD includes Mayuyu~essential exclusives as well as an exclusive song for each edition’s CD (less one, however that edition in particular does exclusively include a most Yum~Yum~♥ music video and full blown physical visual for your Mayuyu lovin’ heart!~!) ^^.
~Watanabe Mayu’s “Deai no tsuzuki” singles can be ordered @ Cdjapan~
Okay pause here for a moment and gaze into Mayuyu’s eyes….. see you don’t need any such incentives or alluring words from myself to convince you why this single is an essential music buy…
..however I’m going to tell you anyway =P.
~The first press extras~
As you can see in my photo above/left, I received only two different Avail cards as three are the same, however there are indeed eight possible versions you could receive as these quite thick stock papered cards are of the randomly inserted types.

And here just below is the external bonus card which Neowing (Cdjapan) is including while their supplies last! =)
~The MV♥s & CD exclusive tracks~
Single version type A
~Watanabe Mayu “Deai no tsuzuki” (mv)~
Now the reason Mayuyu is holding a book in that Neowing extra photo is that the title track itself is the theme song for this Mayu~licious♥ drama in which she stars as an employee at a bookstore! Give it a click, it even sounds readily like a theme song doesn’t it =P…. however the visuals here aren’t in collaboration with the drama but that will be remedied just a bit later here so for now let’s soak in this beautifully maturely composed and performed song for all of its contemporary pop hooks and gorgeous melodies alike~! And while Mayuyu’s solo works of the past have all been most awesome each in their own right (many of a loving Mayuyu musical posts can be found herein with a simple search =) ) “Deai no tsuzuki” really marks a much more mainstream Mayuyu both musically and vocally I think you’d agree? Now getting back to this music video here, while there is a theme of much running here with “gifts?” both which will be further documented during the upcoming “making” of clip you’ll liken to notice a bit of audience misguiding followed by an abrupt twist at music video’s end…. no we’re not talkin’ “Mulholland Drive” level of confuse the crap out of you (・c_・;)?but happily some a bit of adora~mischief instead ^^.
~Watanabe Mayu “Deai no tsuzuki” (making clip)~
The making of runs a most generous nearly 10 minutes long and a few fun things to note here besides all of the running along with some fun Mayuyu commentary on said running would be keeping an eye on all of the passerby extras as it’s efficiently amusing how some simply dress into different props and clothing after one walk by in order to make another run at passing by Mayuyu as all of the open street traffic moves on =)…. that and be on the lookout for this gigantic Heineken bottle which Mayuyu passes as it’s the making of yet another possible “Please idol responsibly” moment for this wacky website =P! Oh and be sure to stick around till the very ending as you know that gigantic diamond thingy Mayuyu is keeping close to her heart?…. well there’s an uber~fun moment she has when she realizes that she’s…… yup it’s cute and amusing~ ^^.
~Watanabe Mayu “Onnanoko nara” (mp3)~
This uber~cute♥ song struck me as being very anime theme like instantly!! Not to mention Mayuyu’s natural vocal talent of being very anime~licious in tone and nuance….. catchy, driven and full of hooks which can capture at very first listen ^^. (note: like the title track “Onnanoko nara” is included on all four editions… hence all four jackets included up above =))
~Watanabe Mayu “Yokogao Romance” (mp3)~
“Yokogao romance” is single type A’s exclusive track.
Single version type B
~Watanabe Mayu “Deai no tsuzuki” (Drama:
“Tatakau! Shoten Girl” special version mv)~
I soooooo love that they produced an all Pegasus Book Store version for “Deai no tsuzuki!!!!” I mean the original mv is most well done in its own right and while this version is most humble and rather simple in its theme and visuals, this mv is the one to reminisce with when thinking back on Mayuyu’s drama~♥. A fun little fact on one particular reason as to why I found “Tatakau! Shoten Girl” so endearing personally…. no it isn’t that I used to work at a book store…… no it’s not even the fact that I do regularly shop at a couple of our Book Off stores found here where the workers dress in those oh~too~cute work aprons!!….. but rather it’s the underlying theme of the drama in how real places such as book stores are slowly but surely dying due to the overwhelming success and ease of shopping at online stores right from the comforts of home. And while I never did work at a book store I did once long ago work at a record store which sadly went the way of the dinosaurs here as they’re all but extinct for the most part and primarily for the very same reasons in which the Pegasus Store here is threatened =(. There’s just simply nothing like being able to physically browse and touch and see firsthand books and musical releases alike as you stroll aisle by aisle in search of hidden gems or that long sought after rarity you’ve been long dreaming ~* of ^^. You see I like to touch things, okay that may sound odd but I think you know what I mean by that…(^q^)! BTW Book Off stores are awesome to peruse!!!! You just never know what you may find on any given day as I totally owe for instance my love of Tanimura Yumi’s incredible musical catalog to one such Book Off store in particular where I found a huge part of her catalog just sitting there with even first press editions in plain sight just saying to me….. take me home with you!! =) I also found a lot of Princess Princess singles and even some Ozaki Yutaka, CoCo, Miura Rieko and Sakai Noriko shashinshuu long out of print at a Book Off store….. I could go on and on and yet this post will have to end at some point won’t it ^^.
ps. I so loved Inamori Izumi’s characters in both “Beach Boys” (not to mention the also starring Takenouchi Yutaka ヽ(。´▽`。)ノ。。!! & Sorimachi Takashi whom were the most yummy manwich in the history of drama Manwiches for me personally anyway =)!!) and “Long Vacation!!” (which just happens to be my all~time~favorite~drama♥).
excuse me for just a bit:
Just kidding (。ーωー。)笑!
I have self control,
really
I
do!
=)
~Watanabe Mayu “Magirashiteiru” (mp3)~
“Magirashiteiru” is single type B’s exclusive track. So talk about diversity in a release, here we already have a perfectly composed contemporary pop gem as well as an anime~licous track and now with “Magirashiteiru” here’s a darker and very moody rock inspired tune which lends to a much darker and likewise moodier flavor to Mayuyu’s vocals…. feel that thumping down low boogieing bass as you sit in a smoky lounge romp ^^!
Regular edition Single
version
~Watanabe Mayu “Yuugure to hoshizora no
aida” (mp3)~
“Deai no tsuzuki’s” regular edition is a CD only version and like all other versions it includes karaoke tracks of each song as well as an one exclusive track, just above that exclusive song being “Yuugure to hoshizora no aida” Now that may not sound like much of an incentive to include the regular edition but I sooooooo beg to differ as “Yuugure to hoshizora no aida” is simply one of the most outstanding songs for this entire release!!! You see we’ve covered a bunch of popular musical genres so far and yet you may be wondering where’s thy gorgeous ballad~♥?? Well look no further as “Yuugure to hoshizora no aida” is just that gorgeous ballad!~! It’s a dreamy one at that too with a bit of an understated instrumentation underneath which lends itself to a most beautiful melody vocalized by our lovery Mayuyu…. click, love, repeat as necessary ^^.
The Limited Edition
Single version
~Watanabe Mayu “Onnanoko nara” (Avail special
version mv)
Okay we’ve now reached the Limited Edition version and doubly the all~star version when it comes to Mayuyu’s fashion tie-up with Avail =)!!!!! As aforementioned at the very beginning those fashion caps atop are all in tribute to this fun and most stylish collaboration!~!
Here Mayuyu’s song “Onnanoko nara” (audio appears on all CD versions) is teamed up with a most colorful~cheerful even fashion extravaganza all care of Avail and here unlike some of those interesting runway shows overseas where models are donning birds atop their heads while being layered in odd plastics, shapes and materials….. here Mayuyu x Avail present wardrobes which you and I would actually wear on any given day~♥! Comfy, cute, radiant and always naturally stylish…. go ahead and soak in all of the Mayuyu~ness, you soooo know you wanna ^^.
This limited edition version is housed in a digipak styled casing which features gorgeous Mayuyu photographs inside (underneath both discs which sit upon clear disc holders) and out.
But
wait
there’s
more!~!!!
Remember that Avail x Mayuyu fashion book I mentioned earlier? Or wait, did I even mention it(・c_・;)?And the size and shape of this fashion book explains the necessity of having the digipak casing =). So here I’ve scanned the entire Mayuyu x Avail fashion book just below, enjoy ^^.
This has been an Adora~cute production by:
~♡!~!
Wow, right at the beginning of your blog post, I think it’s the 4th picture down from the top. Mayuyu looks like an angel from Heaven. Not that I would personally know what an Angel from Heaven looks like, but I imagine the way Mayuyu looks in this picture would accurately describe an angelic being. She’s simply too beautiful for my eyes. I never have thought her as especially attractive at all, though I do think she’s a real idol’s idol, much like her best friend Yukirin. But she never really did anything for me…. but that picture. Just… it took my breath away. I’ve been staring at it for awhile now.
Also, I work in the publishing industry, own my own company in fact, and I agree that it’s sad how small bookstore chains are slowly dying. I can’t imagine going to Japan and not seeing a Book Off though. That would be weird. One of my all time favorite memories of visiting Japan a few years back was spending hours in a Book Off on the same street as the apartment I rented. I found so many AKB48 Goods there, not to mention some awesome Perfume and Kumi Koda items that were super cheap. I also found a ton of movies I wanted, and even a few anime selections as well. Something about Book Off just really does it for me. But yeah, it would be sad to see all the bookstores vanish from the planet. They are great places of information and connections. Crazy how Mayuyu chose to be put in the middle of such a wonderful environment like that. It says a lot about her, doesn’t it?
As usual, your posts are tremendous and always so in depth. Now, if we just had the Utaban guys show up in that bookstore and ask Mayuyu some questions and if she got them wrong, she would have to endure being strapped to a seat and forced to be exposed to huge popping balloons, then the world would officially be at peace. Right? I mean, you know, it could happen, eh?
Gomen… went off on a tangent there. But in all honesty, this is truly a gem of a release for our Number 3 girl. Something tells me she’s still your queen though 🙂

I wonder if it’s because there Mayuyu~♥’s got that nonchalantly cute look working =)!! Plus it’s a casual, warm and fuzzy style she’s wearing with the cutest of hair accessories. Wait! Mayuyu is from Heaven!! =P And you’re so right that she’s a ‘real idol’s idol’….. couldn’t have said that any better.
I’d recommend gazing a long time at pages 7 and 2 from her Avail fashion book =):
This photo was actually taken in succession to the one you’ve been gazing at atop fourth down:
That’s sooooooo exactly why I love book stores and Book Off’s especially!!!! How you can browse there on any given day and just come across such amazing finds and rarities and YES wonderful pricing! We’ve had Book Off here for awhile now but they weren’t always here as Walden’s was the biggest book store we had at one time. Videos, books, music…. just so much to browse at a Book Off. Un Mayuyu would naturally transcend into the book store life as she’s well rehearsed in manga and should actually go on to create her very own art and voice characters as she’s so capable.
LOL ohhhh my God I’ve have to save Mayuyu from the wild antics of the Utaban guys haha =P!! If only Utaban still existed today, they’d be a perfect partner for Family48 as they were for Momusu/Hello! Project in their early years…. witnessing an incredibly perfect variety show literally grow up in partnership with the idol world which was Momusu/H!P back then was priceless and really the perfect storm for both ^^.
Oh and hope you got a chance to listen to the songs and videos as they’re all so so well written, produced and of course performed~♥!! Me being heavily biased and all I still think I speak the total truth here =).

This has to be the definite Mayuyu post! So much work to put together, and worth every second, because it looks so great… I’ve yet to watch the TV show, although I’ve been following the story (vaguely) via screen caps on Tumblr. Always love Mayuyu’s solo singing projects. Her songs are upbeat and like a fresh breeze, always perfectly matched to her voice, which is truly pleasant to listen to. Alas, no Book Offs in the UK, although we have a few stores called FOPP, owned by HMV, which itself is the last high street CD/DVD store remaining here. FOPP has many cut-price goodies. If you go inside, it’s unlikely you’ll leave without having bought something.

Hi Philip! Thank you! I usually end up trying to put in possibly too much content into posts like these =P…. sort of tendency of mine and here so many Mayuyu caps came out really great so it’s always difficult to edit out some for fear of having too many =). All of the version exclusive songs made getting every type well worth it and these songs are just so well written and yes as you’ve said they’re perfectly tailored to her voice for sure. The variety of songs here too really shines with of course the catchy title track and the wonderful ballad in ““Yuugure to hoshizora no aida” being at the forefront of my faves♥ albeit I love them all and Mayuyu’s collaboration with Avail made this release extra special with a special music video here being like a fashion behind the scenes look-in accompanied by the cute “Onnanoko nara” track along with this must have photo booklet! I’ve always found Mayuyu’s solo works extra special with so much put into them and I wondered why Yuko never got the solo release chance…? So lucky to have a chain like HMV with stores there!! I miss being able to browse through an actual record store these days as there’s simply nothing like it. I mean ordering online is easy and convenient and yet to be able to browse in person, choose and purchase and then be able to listen/watch your new found treasure immediately cannot be overstated =). But it’s mostly the browsing part I miss the most…. =(.

HI there. You may have heard this already, but if not, here’s a real treat. My favourite Nogi A-side performed live by the amazing Ikuta Erika and Mayuyu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfZnMOpeuOY
Sadly, HMV almost went bust a couple of years back, but somehow hangs in there. Ten years ago there were many other record stores, but they’ve all disappeared. You’re right: browsing the actual goodies is a very wonderful thing. Interestingly, the vinyl LP is making a huge comeback and there are now new shops springing up to supply the demand, so all is not lost.
