Congratulations~*~~* to the United States Women’s National Soccer Team!!!! ….on their incredible win vs. #1 seeded Germany in the 2015 World Cup!!
You could see the team gel both offensively and defensively coming off of their 1-0 win over China in their previous match leading up to this epic battle of the top two seeded teams in this World Cup and the U.S. didn’t disappoint by not only shutting out the highest scoring and #1 offensive team in the tournament in Germany, but by also winning it with not one but two amazing goals! Given the first goal was scored on a questionable penalty kick foul which appeared to have occurred just outside of the box as Alex Morgan was was definitely fouled on her way into a potential scoring position but that second goal which also occurred during the second half, it was one for the ages as from out of the far left corner two masterful passes were made to Germany’s goal front leading to a perfectly executed goal by just inserted Kelley O’Hara!!
And as often heard in other major sports it’s truly a great defense which wins championships/games and the U.S. truly dominated Germany pretty thoroughly throughout the entire first half even making them appear tentative and very uncomfortable at times keeping them on the defensive for much of the time. And although both teams were held scoreless there was no question the U.S. was on the attack with many a hearts hoping they could finally capitalize on their numerous chances at goal. Hope Solo was as expected most key too in the victory as her shutout minutes in this World Cup are reaching epic proportions now. A huge moment came in the first half when Germany was given a penalty kick after an ill advised contact foul was made deep inside the U.S. box and subsequently Germany’s most prolific scorer in Sasic missed far left on the penalty kick after a bit of head games between herself and goalie Hope Solo transpired. This penalty kick miss was notably the very first by Germany in their World Cup history so yeah it was a big BIG moment for sure!! I was watching in utter panic saying out loud please don’t go in please miss!!! And as the match unfolded into the second half you could truly sense Germany playing much better and taking on a much more offensive role during even the final minutes of the match, however it was all about the U.S. outplaying and notably outcoaching Germany as well as there were notable lineup changes and a key 4~3 change to their attack formation which proved very effective throughout the entire match. Additionally you’d have to consider that star forward Alex Morgan was obviously still feeling out of sorts coming back from her injury which had her missing matches prior to the World Cup and she just doesn’t seem to be her normal self just yet as she seemed a bit out of rhythm even as she had numerous opportunities on the offensive. That being a positive in the sense that she’s only going to get better and better as she returns to her awesome self….and hopefully sooner than later as the World Cup Final will be held this Sunday!!! Tomorrow defending World Cup Champions Japan will face off against England…. will definitely be exciting too as the U.S. will learn whom they’ll be facing in the Final. Can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!!! =)
GO USA~♥ (*´∀｀) うれしー♥♥♥！！！！
