Watarirouka Hashiritai Kaisan Concert...

Watarirouka Hashiritai

Watarirouka Hashiritai Kaisan Concert Bluray LE box set

Everything’s more beautiful on Bluray including Watarirouka Hashiritai’s farewell concert which was held on February 9th earlier this year.

No doubt this commemorative box set, like the concert itself is most bittersweet and fittingly the production and presentation here is pretty much going all out in making this a most special collectible for fans. First you’ll notice the bullet proof outer casing okay it’s not actually bullet proof however I must say that it’s easily one of thevery thickest outer slip cases I’ve ever come across to date! Inside is the Bluray which includes a mini color photo book and a most gorgeously produced 144 page HARD COVER BOOK!!!

Watarirouka Hashiritai Kaisan Concert LE Box Set Hard Cover Book

Not too often you’ll find a well produced hard cover book included with a video release and inside is an all inclusive look into Watarirouka Hashiritai including live concert photos, a documentary of the final concert including the day’s timeline of events, interviews with each member of the group, an in depth history of the group, CD release notes and a final message the girls.

The concert itself includes a setlist of 27 songs covering each and every favorite in their discography with the special features including exclusive camera angles on each member with special select songs from the concert….you know if you’d like to stare watch just one member for an entire song at a time =), behind the scenes rehearsal footage, final concert and stage preparations, individual interviews with each member and it all leads up to the final concert itself with Mayuyu’s last opening speech just before the show begins.

Fittingly the concert opens and closes with their debut single “Hatsukoi Dash” and as the concert progresses the group lineup grows from its original 4nin roots to 5nin and finally to 7nin as Watarirouka Hashiritai7 and with Hirajima Natsumi we actually end up with Watarirouka Hashiritai8 =D! The concert also includes duets, trios, quartets and solo performances with Wasamin’s here being most memorable I felt as the group is mixed and matched throughout the show as wardrobe changes occur. First deep emotions are seen as the final song “Tenohira” is performed (before the encore) as the momentous occasion of the groups break up is becoming an ever nearer reality, Harugon is first to being breaking down in tears and if you’ve ever had a dear friend shed tears surely you know that you and the others won’t be far behind.

Tonight’s concert is being held at Zepp Diver City Tokyo, a music hall venue with a cozy atmosphere and for tonight the stage has been transformed into a school’s hall, ready to watch? Let’s go! =)

I’ve chosen 10 performances which include singles as well as a few other favorites and while the concert is bookended by the aforementioned “Hatsukoi Dash” (first as the 4nin group and then with everyone =)! ) I am beginning with my #1 most favorite all time favorite Watarirouka Hashiritai song~♥ “Seishun no flag.” ^^

(note: I needed to dumb-down the Bluray in order to have manageable file sizes here but hopefully they still look okay =) )

Wow, what an amazing post. Thank you for giving us the chance to sample this farewell. Really looking forward to enjoying the scenes you’ve chosen, and will comment again when I’ve finished. I loved WH7 and their retro songbook, as you know, so I’m certain your post will encourage me to add the DVD release to my shopping list!

    • Ah you and me both love WH’s style of discography =)!! There’s so many great performances to choose from in this concert as they pretty much covered their most beloved songs I think and I had to somehow narrow down my choices here and it wasn’t easy! The inclusion of the book really heightens this final release and when you see that it’s hard cover and so well done it’s pretty amazing. As noted here my most favorite WH song is easily “Seishun no flag”, do you have a favorite WH(7) song?

‘Shonen yo Uso o Tsuke!’ is really catchy, and I like that song a lot. It does sound very much like an AKB48 song, though. ‘Seishun no flag’ is certainly wonderful and distinctively theirs, but for the entire package of mv and song, it has to be ‘Valentine Kiss’ as my favourite of all. As we’ve agreed on before, the set design for the video is totally remarkable.

        • They have a wonderful performance of that song in this concert too =)! Un Valentine Kiss is a most catchy song and visually it’s like Watarirouka Hashiritai & the Chocolate Factory =D ….one of if not their very best of set designs I so agree. Watching the MCs in this concert I’m reminded of how anime-like Mayuyu’s voice truly is and while all of the WH7 girls have really adorable voices, Mayuyu’s somehow just still out-cutes them all…that of course coming from a heavily biased fan =P.

That is a good choice for fav WH song.
I also like “Gyu” because it KILLS … me. Especially Lovetan’s parts.
I become helpless … I think it is what idoling is all about.

    • Sad that WH(7) won’t be releasing anything more =( and yet what an awesome and fitting final concert release with this box set being a most attractive tribute to all things WH♥. U~n that was such a nice special surprise guest moment~* too…seems that you indeed can sometimes get the band back together =). When Mayuyu♥ sings it’s like having an anime experience at the same time o(*´∀`)o゛♡。
