You may have noticed that I’ve turned the “like” feature off for now for both posts and comments as I’ve lately thought of it as being a bit…..not sure of what word to use here?? It’s like a formality for lack of a better word and really aside from the SITE NEWS page and my ABOUT page, on average it only accumulates between 0~3 or 4 likes per post and originally I guess I really envisioned the ‘like’ button being as how it’s used on sites such as Facebook where if someone agrees with or finds a comment amusing they’ll simply click the ‘like’ button to show their like for that particular comment or that they feel similarly about that comment’s views or post likewise (for lack of a better way of saying that =P). And what I mean by ‘formality’ is that those who’ve been clicking ‘like’ are already friends whom I have been speaking with on this blog for some time now, so it’s like a given that by commenting they’ve already ‘clicked’ like so to speak, like it’s already been said countless times over =). Now if the occasional passerby of lurker expressed themselves with likes that would have made all the difference really but maybe people are just shy?

But none of that really occurs here although it isn’t for a lack of daily visitors or page views as according to WordPress stats which you can add up monthly and average out, every month approximately 10,700 + unique visitors arrive here while monthly page views are approximately around 39,700+ with higher spikes on some months for both visit stats. And since those numbers occur each and every month consistently, having nearly 40,000 post visits per month (sometimes higher…) coinciding with between 0~4 likes per post indeed does make it silly of me to even have that like button visible doesn’t it LOL (。ーωー。)笑!

And so I’ve bid good-bye to the ‘Easy Button’ aka: the “like” button and it’s really much ado about nothing but I just thought that I’d explain the reasoning for its sudden vanishing ~* as in truth this ‘like’ button here has been tormenting me with a false sense of hope LOL =P that perhaps some of the 10,000+ visitors (yes that would mean you most likely reading this very post right this minute ;D ) actually was amused what they found here on any given day….although Coucous (aka:BFF♥) offers up a different theory as for the reasoning for the silence of the vast majority of visitors thinking that they’re simply arriving here by the means of a ‘happy accident….’ like for example if one were to Google something they want and then out of a random action they happen to click ~*on a link which leads them to a post somewhere here and then subsequently they think to themselves…. ‘WT# is this?’ as they curiously click ~*on a few more pages and then leave in utter disgust (´。・д・。)!!!!

Hmm? If this is really true then I’m ‘seriously’ thinking about changing this blog’s name to MORNING ACCIDENTS…although that could indeed imply at least a few unwanted images in one’s mind:

1) Waking up to find that your pet has ‘accidentally’ pooped on the kitchen floor =O.

or

2) Getting rear ended on the way to work =O

or sometimes…

3) You awake to realize that condoms are ‘only’ 98% effective in preventing pregnancy while alcohol is 100% effective in causing it (。ーωー。)笑!

^^.

Anyway today’s Aloha♥Friday and isn’t summer over?? as the heat and humidity here sure doesn’t say that at all =).

I’ve just answered my own question to you about the ‘like’ feature and understand why you have stopped including it. It’s useful for letting you know we’ve read your post, but that’s what the comments box also does.
I’ll read your other recent posts later!

    • HI Philip!
Thank you for understanding, I know it’s such a tiny matter but I just didn’t feel that it suited this blog anymore. A~h and you’ve just reasoned its unnecessary presence here much better than I did in a single sentence =).

hey MB, the images back to normal now hahaa

i think th like button works better on face because there is a place for span things, so u can post”hi” and maybe all ur friends go llike it and that friends friends go do this to and so on.

seeing WP is a place for more specific subjects, i think the ppl go read it, and comment if its necessary, but maybe not use the like button 😛
