Party of Five complete series on DVD

It often times puzzles me as to how long some television series take to find their way onto DVD releases and no series is truer in this regard than Party of Five. Way back in I believe it was early 2004 we saw season one finally get released after already much delay and subsequently seasons two and three a couple of years later….however the final three seasons four, five and six were no where on the release horizon for years and years gone by which frustrated many fans as to what the lengthy delay could have been all about.

By later in the decade I had completely given up that we’d ever see the final three seasons released onto DVD so I actually quit getting my hopes up and didn’t bother checking Amazon anymore. And it’s been nearly 10 years past since season one was released but at long last!!!!!! I checked again a few weeks ago and tada!! there available were seasons four, five and six =D!!!!!!!!!!! Sure they’re no where nearly as prettily packaged as the first three seasons were as those came in outer slip cases with a nice fold out design for each of its DVDs, but I so can’t complain about aesthetics as now fans can finally own the complete Party of Five series which is ONE of the most beloved, well written, directed and acted television drama series of all time!!!! Such a stellar cast and the storylines within are second to none for dramatic family series as you follow the Salinger’s through all of their struggles, life lessons and triumphs as we literally grew up with those characters often times finding ourselves relating to their life situations which were played so true to life. With countless memorable episodes again it was the writing which was so powerful and poignant as this drama truly tackled the toughest of society’s challenges never shying away from even the most controversial subjects as the Salinger’s met them head on throughout the years. It’s amazing to think that it was just six seasons they gave us as it just seems like so much more as there was so much wealth and depth of life in this show.

So for Scott Wolf (my personal fave in this show overall), Matthew Fox, Neve Campbell, Lacey Chabert (my personal second fave character & actress), Paula Devicq, Jeremy London and Jennifer Love Hewitt (tied for second favorite character/actress) what an amazing time and show to have been a major part of back then, and now at long last those memories can be relived in their entirety once again~.
