~SMAP’S “YES WE ARE”/ “Koko Kara” singles can be ordered @ HMV Japan~
Nope you haven’t fallen into a time warp as SMAP’s double A-side release of “YES WE ARE”/ Koko Kara” were released way back in early April and they’ve actually since released another single just last month on the 16th titled “Top Of The World” / “Amazing Discovery”, it’s just that I hadn’t gotten around to posting these and this single really has grown on me since.
SMAP released each song as the featured headliner in separate single releases and with the limited editions they’ve also included the all essential music video for each respectfully. A little bummed that no making of was included on the discs themselves albeit you can access them through the included pamphlet which contains a QR code for mobile access along with a unique serial numbered code to enter there. First pressings also included a post card ↑↑ with its design depending on which song type you chose.

With the ambiance of soft lighting and a whimsically sweet~poppy~jazzy tune, the visuals and melodies of “Koko Kara” play out perfectly and when you listen to the song’s meaning it’s all really quite the beautiful collage where a lover finds the every day turbulence of life tiresome realizing all at once that his love is with whom he’d want to be from now and the realization of this most important person in their life with the symbolism of ‘home’ being a place of forever from the heart. Okay it sounds much better in Japanese lyrics with a poetry like touch ~* =D ….and just a couple of cute notes: In the second verse the girl notions about her makeup with the reply of her being beautiful just the way she is naturally =) and in the first verse his cell phone is reckoned as being monster-like with its ringing and with those very lyrics you’ll notice Kimutaku motioning with his hand referring to said cell phone, just thought that was cute whether improvised or not choreography ^^.

First off the space/planets effects are most cool and just with those deep purples to darkness of the atmosphere it’s really dynamic!
Okay get it? It’s about unconditional/“universal” love of course =).
And look over there!~!! It’s u’reanus Uranus, some scientist guy had a real sense of humor ^^.
As I watched these, I was suddenly reminded of a Utaban episode, Ayaya as guest promoting The Last Night, when she said that this time there was no choreography for them to do the “Takasan-learns-the-dance” corner, and Nakai said:
Now, as much as I may make fun of Nakai-kun’s lack of singing skills, I really appreciate it, because otherwise I find most SMAP performances pretty boring. It’s a mistery why I don’t care for pretty much any male idols besides Arashi (or maybe the real mistery here is, why do I like Arashi?) I like everything else SMAP though, just no music.

That is brilliantly funny!!! Oh The Last Night is such a beautiful song and that music pv she had for it was equally beautiful……an autumn theme and the strings all around. Taka-san learning those Minimoni dances were the best =)!
Hmmm Okay it may be time to turn you onto SMAP’s music….those songs buried in time which may change your mind I wonder? I’ll need a bit of time though in order to revive something here but will link you as soon as it’s ready. There’s something really interesting about SMAP’s music through the years, mysterious even! Tanoshimi ne~ =).
