Kasai Tomomi just released her now 3rd solo single in mid January and this one’s a bit more anticipated I imagine than her previous two as this single release marks her very first post AKB48 with many questions as to how her musical style or image perhaps may change as a true soloist outside of the mother ship for the very first time. I’ll be quick to note that AkiP does indeed remain at the total reigns of her production here and likewise Kasai’s overall sweet appeal in which we’ve all come to love and adore for all these years along with her cutest of anime-like vocals remain true to herself as an artist with no major makeover as in she didn’t go all R&B on us which would have seemed out of character to say the least which seems to be an all to often road taken as idols tend to ‘grow up’ so to speak =). As I’ve opted for singles types A & B here I’m treated to three additional b-sides including the cheerful and upbeat “Touch Me!” along with “Lovely days” both of which have a notably much less polished ballad-y style to them opting for pure J-pop♥ bounce versus the title track which is equally as catchy in its mid tempo of ways with a well produced poppy groove in its own right making its stature here most warranted no doubt. Kasai growth as an artist beyond her most capable vocal range which has always been filled with her natural sweet intonations and cute nuances takes a further leap here as with a closer look into this release’s credits you realize that all of the coupling with song’s lyrics have been penned by none other than Kasai herself!
Here are the aforementioned A & B type singles along with Neowing’s (Cdjapan) first press external photo extras (the two duplicates here) as they always appear to be of the same design along with the single’s internal photo first press extras (pictured, bottom here) which are of the randomly inserted sort as this single features a variety from five different possible designs.
Hmm and I’m wondering if you’ve noticed something heavily evident and consistent here in regards to all of the images so far?? The answer is that they’ve all been shot here in Hawaii and in fact they’re all additionally from right here on the island of Oahu!!! And that brings me to the recent and let’s call it the second coming of Kasai’s first ever shashinshuu which is set to release on March 17th not too long from today!!
Not sure if this is the actual cover above as it may perhaps just be a stock photo but in any case let’s all give a huge sigh* of relief that Kasai’s boobs aren’t being handled by another being or likewise =D!, you know that ill ‘thought’ out cover imagery of epic politically incorrect (putting it lightly!!!!) proportions which canceled her entire photo book the previous time having me worried that it was maybe headed for a permanent residency beside W’s forever shelved third album effort fail which sadly no one even is sure of its existence or not in this world although it did have a title…. so I have to assume that it’s somewhere hidden away in Tsunku’s mansion most likely in the basement area somewhere. So Kasai finally gets her rightfully and much anticipated shashinshuu release at long last, oh and getting back the whole Hawaii tie-in, this photo book promises of the beauty of Hawaii to be ever present with one gorgeous Kasai taking in the scenery of our islands and with this single release I’ve got to believe that it’ll be none other than our island of Oahu which is going to be featured extensively in not in entirety with Kasai’s upcoming shashinshuu release….looking forward to it right =D!!~!
Above are the two first press internal photo extras (enlarged for your pleasure =P) which I received with my two singles while just below is the Neowing (Cdjapan) exclusive first press external photo extra which I have a duplicate of.

At first watch the music video for the title track “Kietai kurai” had me a bit confused as she’s in beautiful Hawaii and yet she opens here crying her heart out… but why??
Well luckily Mr. director here =D explains it all during the included pv making of clip \(^o^)/!
~Kasai Tomomi “Kietai kurai” (mv)~
So the director explains the music video’s concept as being of a girl whom revisits Hawaii alone as it’s where a past love of hers had occurred bringing back an array of mixed emotions with of course deep sadness and yet she finds a means of closure in her time spent anew here. And I must say that Kasai’s pretty amazing at shedding the crocodile tears in a most realistic fashion and if the tiny bit of clips here in the music video don’t quite convince you then have a look into the making of which is sure to make this certain, really, and when you also have the audio to go along with her crying don’t be stunned if you find yourself trying to hold back the tears too albeit we have no idea of what personal imagery or acting craft she’s going by in order to produce tears like that on the spot for the camera. And while I was watching all of the very familiar imagery here playing the hosting background to Kasai~♥, I couldn’t help but think that it all sort of equaled to being sort of like a tourism to Hawaii promotional video and along with the imagery found on each of this single’s jackets both inside and out (first press photo extras included!) I’m also thinking that these are indeed acting likewise as a bit of preview/ making of for Kasai’s aforementioned and all too delayed shashinshuu debut~. Some of the locations of note which appear here include: Kaimuku, Kahala, Ala Wai, Ala Moana, Haleiwa (our North Shore), or downtown along with iconic Waikiki of course! Oh and keep a look out for Kasai’s surfing lessons which are a must I’d say if you do visit here albeit that yours truly is too afraid to attempt it herself but you have to understand that I once had a friend attempt to teach me how to skateboard and it didn’t go very well when ‘the student’ has no sense of balance to speak of xD. Other notable locations are the hotel in which Kasai stays at which is the Royal Grove Hotel which is located pretty much centrally in Waikiki and also the Hawaii Opera Theater which is located nearby to our Honolulu Museum of Art which isn’t far from our Neal Blaisdell Center in Honolulu.

And of course whenever you come to Hawaii you must get laid lei~d =D.
~Kasai Tomomi “SUNNY DAYS-Tomomi in Hawaii-“~
This clip in particular I’m thinking holds the most preview like of sorts for Kasai’s upcoming shashinshuu which is most promising!!
Two other notable extra features included on single type B are a mini documentary covering Kasai’s solo debut live event which was held on February 16th of last year at Yokohama BLITZ along with a little clip titled “Me Ke Aloha~Letter from Tomomi~” which is rather like a mini movie of sorts that creates closure for the story depicted in the original music video as through an entire letter narrated by Kasai, her times with her past love and memories are sorted and put to rest in a final farewell. Again both of these extra features can be found on the type B single, hope you enjoyed Kasai’s latest solo effort as much as I did and now surely you must come visit Hawaii too right ^^!
