20 Sweet 2014 Winter (60)

20+ Sweet 2014 Winter issue

While the standard of adorability will no doubt remain as the norm for idol pictorials, it’s most refreshing to every now and then appreciate the artistic side to idol photography.

So in that vein of thought today I’ve scanned four of the five pictorials from the latest issue of 20+ Sweet and as per usual you’ll probably readily know just how big of a sucker I am for magazine covers in particular as all a publisher really need do in order to tickle ~* my fancy to grab a copy is place a fave idol upon their cover and with the added promise of adequate inner content as well….it’s pretty certain to be a done deal for me =).

Enter Covergirl Mayuyu whom may soon ascend to my personal Oshi~♥ throne, that though is pending on whether or not she succeeds in tugging at my heartstrings even more than Sasshi whom as aforementioned here is currently locked into an all out Oshi grudge match tie where there can only be one, less I betray the solemn oath of Oshi-monogamy.... (;゜□゜)!!!Much like the style of photography you’ll also find in Switch, 20+Sweet takes on a most artistic approach with their (interview accompanying; note: I’ve included just Mayuyu’s interview article portion) photography and as you’ll see within the pages of this latest issue, this style of approach where taking a profound precedence are lighting, wardrobe, atmosphere and the very ambiance of the photo shoots, it lends to a much different light in which your celebrity/ idol faves are revealed.

And in particular it’s NMB48’s Nana whom looks soooooo different in her pictorial here!! Her styling and makeup are just part of the equation of a much more mature appearing Nana….and (sigh*) it seems just like yesterday that Nana was pouring milk on herself.

milk...

got Nana...

Also beautifully featured here are of course Covergirl Mayuyu who’s embodying gorgeous ~~> Goddess!!! Stunning!! Stunning photos I think you’ll agree and in particular those in that oh~soooooo beautiful golden dress atop those majestic steps!, HKT48’s Rabutan who’s channeling a most ladylike side to herself & last but certainly not least is SUPER☆GiRLS’ Shimura Rika whom has this issue’s sensual side all locked up to herself in images of warm glamour and intimacy~.

Mayuyu in 20 Plus SWEET

A number of photos flow across two pages, however I opted to scan just one of the pages as this magazine is actually larger than the surface area of my scanner making any hopes of getting the two opposing images anywhere near to being seamlessly together not a possibility.

Downside is that full impact of these vibrant images loses a significant aspect of their shine as you can see both above and below are just two examples of two such photos featuring Mayuyu where my single page scans doesn’t quite do them justice.

Beautiful, artful photo sequences. Mayuyu looks particularly fine here. Do you have Shimura Rika’s shashinshuu?

Mayuyu looks simply majestic upon those stairs with the amazing architecture all around her still playing second fiddle….oh and her golden dress omg~~♥~!~~♥~!!!! After seeing these photos it’s regretful that I don’t have any PBs of Shimura Rika =(…she’s so gorgeous ne~!..sensual photography always gets me too!

I know this is premature, but myabe Mayuyu will become your AKB48 oshi after…you know…the graduation.
Shimura Rika is so very attractive in this sequence. Are you able to tell how much make-up she’s wearing? Apart from the shiny lips and mascara, her look is very natural. It must be a very precise art applying make-up to someone who’s attractive enough to start with. Western models wear huge amounts of make-up in fashion pictures. Idols tend to be given a girl-next-door look. Mayuyu certainly looks striking with bright lipstick, but also slightly wrong: for me, anyway.

        • She’s wearing a light amount of blush and eye mascara, but not much at all. She’s gorgeous here I so agree!…and I love the softness of her photos and the sensual nuances of her poses. U~n too much makeup never a good thing…many of my friends here go without any at all and I prefer the natural look too….natural beauty is always best.

It’s going to be a photo finish for Oshi then as it’s going to be either Mayuyu or Sasshi as they’re in a virtual tie as two and three now…really it’s a toss up and I’m not sure of how I will actually decide but surely there can only be one ^^.

As you know, just as a sailor has a girl in every ports, I have an oshi in every team, with the exception of NMB, for some unknown reason (if pressed, it would probably be Milky). I know this is pure greed, but life is short. But to choose between Sasshi and Mayuyu will not be a simple matter. They’re both gorgeous. Mayuyu seems to have the edge when it comes to professional ambition: she’s very focused there; while Sasshi just wants to be loved (and also to get out of Fukuoka). Sasshi makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when I see her, so if ever she were to return to AKB48, requiring me to lose an oshi, I’d stick with Sasshi while continuing to admire Mayuyu.
Natural beauty certainly is best. I always get very sidetracked when watching some US TV shows by the cosmetic surgery and make-up on display. The end results are rarely attractive. I wonder what the ideal look these people are striving for actually is. Do you remember how Brittany Murphy changed herself towards the end? She was so lovely already, in addition to being an excellent actress, but ended up going after a different look altogether: and going blonde in the process. I was very sad when she died, having admired her work for years.
