AKB48 Heart Electric

Just a brief preview and surely the sixties are inspiring here and not just visually! I’ve only pre~ordered types A, K & B…however I’ve just noticed that Type 4 which wasn’t originally listed when their pre-orders went up does have an exclusive MV all to itself which means…must get =)!

Beautiful covers. Imagine, though, if they were LP-sized…

    • That would make even a bigger statement in the essence of this release celebrating the 60’s, LP sized releases today are far and few between sadly with one notable LP sized edition released by SMAP some years ago as well as a mutual girl band love doing just the same =).

Interestingly, we seem to have lots of new vinyl over here. It’s very expensive, and I’m not sure if it’s for playing or just ‘having’. As for secondhand vinyl, over here its still abundant in secondhand chaps and thrift stores, although a lot of it is far from perfect. As you know, I still buy it when I see something interesting. I would love to visit Otokichi’s store with an empty suitcase and fill it with the many 80s albums he sells. To buy online would be so expensive, postage-wise.

It’s just wonderful that you still see it readily available there….here I’ve only seen vinyl in second hand stores and the selection isn’t what it used to be for collectors. U~n I too could easily make an entire day of it I think…just so many hidden treasures to see and collect in Otokichi’s amazing inventory!

            • I’m thinking you may have bundled with Nogizaka & SKE? I sometimes wish everything one loves would come out on the very same day making shipping so much simpler =P.

Heart Ereki has now shipped! You should be receiving yours any day now. How exciting! I’ve yet to order SKE and Nogizaka46. The SKE covers have just come out: loads of versions, but the limited are a must-have. Hopefully Nogizaka46 will have the usual excellent extras. The last three A-sides have been particularly fine.

                • Yay~!!! your copies will arrive soon too, it looks to be another incredible single with lots of extras ~* too!! Sometimes there are so many versions which makes my mind battle over which ones to get as it’s so difficult to get them all….thinking back to the earlier days of Momusu there were only first pressings and a regular edition so it was a much simpler time albeit they had separate releases for their music videos it was still so much financially easier =D. Some Hello! Project releases now have up to E versions and beyond which is just woh! too many =O…I tend to opt for the versions with their dance versions and original versions of their pvs on the DVDs as that satiates me the most along with hopefully the making of.

The multiple release puts a great strain on the fan’s pocket. It certainly was easier when, for example, AKB48’s ‘Sakura no shiori’ and ‘Beginner’ were just A, B and Theater. ‘River was just one CD/DVD and Theater! As for H!P, what springs to mind (after those A to E editions) are the S/mileage CD/DVD releases which were either close-up or dance, and how they could really have been incorporated onto one release. But the record companies wouldn’t do it if they knew people wouldn’t be prepared to spend.

                    • Yes the simple days!!! And yet so true that fans will continue to spend in order to get all of the exclusive content for each version and to of course support their favorite artists but when I see an E version it just boggles the mind =O. Regular Edition used to just mean that it didn’t include the first press extra(s)….but now it’s gone way past and Hello! Project really got it right when they would include all of those first press collectibles way back when….those which we often times have talked about like with pins, hard cover booklets, tins, pouches, trading cards and the like…miss those days. And AKB has so much potential to create those types of extras too and while I do totally love all of the work, effort and content that they put into their DVDs which are simply second to none it would be really amazing if they would produce collectibles like those of H!P’s past with all of the idols they employ the possibilities are endless. I know they have a lot of collectibles in projects outside of their music releases in other promotional collaborations but it’s those music related ones which are the best I think.

I agree that it would be great to have some extra goodies, like the tins, or the posters you could get with Gomaki and Ayaya etc, even if you never actually stuck the posters on the wall, they’d be there in the box like a treasure. There are, as you say, lots of AKB goodies, from calendars to SKE48 ready meals, or from printed towels to novelty wrist supports for computer work, but it’s the CD releases that could really do with the H!P treatment.
