Happy Aloha~♥ Friday from paradise!!
For tonight’s Unzipped♥ we’ll go back to the summer of 2000 which marked the early stardom for idol/actress Uchiyama Rina. Her idol/modeling career had already taken off where she frequented idol and fashion magazines and this summer marked her momentous occasion of graduation while also producing her very first shashinshuu titled “R-157 ~Sotsugyou~” which coincided with the release of her very first idol image DVD of the very same name.
As you can see just above, idol DVDs typically back then were released in the standard CD sized jewel case format as the Americanized version of utilizing the much larger DVD casing was yet to convert Japan’s entertainment industry. “R-157 ~Sotsuyou~” the DVD was released on July 5th, 2000.
~Uchiyama Rina “R-157 ~Graduation” (complete video)~
The DVD runs just over 31 minutes and serves as both a personal memorandum of Uchiyama Rina’s graduation time including a light commentary of memories of friends, likes and dislikes with school life in general as well as being a documentation of her very first photo book’s shooting. Small interval portions of the video also include some candid footage taken by a handheld and I didn’t notice this years ago when I first watched this DVD but there’s this acoustic guitar playing what sounds like Nina Gordon’s “The End of the World” or at least the chorus part sounds like it…..
“…Why do the birds go on singing
Why do the stars glow above
Don’t they know it’s the end of the world
It ended when I lost your love…”

~Uchiyama Rina in YS Web~
And here an early appearance of Uchiyama Rina in Young Sunday I think she’s so cute!…haha and note the baseball fan jersey being worn by that one guy in the stands, a sign of the times as well as location of these, and he was with the Mets I believe for a short time =D.
