How much has Erepyon grown up vocally?
Just take a listen to her latest single (her 5th) “Fighting Hero” which is the theme song for the drama “Tank Top Fighter” and while Erepyon may have taken a bit more of the cutesy persona in her vocal stylings of her past even into her solo career, it’s clear that she’s now aiming much more towards a mainstream audience with her latest effort here as it’s just so much more grown up and just note her vocal phrasing throughout this single, really developed and great!! Of course nothing wrong with the idol approach for cuteness on the vocal chords as I would otherwise always encourage it but for Erepyon “Fighting Hero” really shows her growth as an artist and the title track here is just so so well written which always helps! The song structure has everything composed for greatness with a wonderful build up in tension, grooving verses, w/ one of the best chorus sections and of course an infectious melody throughout with a backbeat that really gets you going and I love when drums are recorded in this ‘live’ reverberating manner as it always adds such a lively aura to any recording and let’s just say, leave the rest to Erepyon’s well performed vocals….impressive~! The coupling with track “Matte itano” is fittingly on the opposite side of the spectrum as in it’s a lovely ballad but not a sleepy one for that matter as it’s more of an upbeat ballad (if that makes any sense =P) and here Erepyon gets to display her strength, nuances and range a bit more than in the title track (particularly in the chorus sections) and really this could have been billed a double~A~side without question as both songs not only compliment each other in giving this single diversity in having polar opposites but also in the strength of the song writing for each, definitely a ☆☆☆☆☆ release! As you can see I chose the type C single version and this was certainly a case of aesthetics getting the better of me as I’d typically always choose (if not going for every DVD version) the version including the original pv which is usually the type A version (as was the case here) but it was absolutely type C’s cover art which got me….I mean it’s the cutest of the three ‘and DVD’ versions as the regular version also has a most pretty cover also but unfortunately no DVD included. Her first press editions include a photo as well as a photo card (above, right).

Love the pv here too and since I don’t have it here’s a link, easily Erepyon’s best song release to date!! And she has an album upcoming in just a few days later this month~!

What I do have is the video which accompanies her type C single version and here it’s a little look into Erepyon’s recording adventures for the title track…she’s so wacky great and so cute!
