Graduated too soon.
I know it’s selfish to say, but when a favorite whose even been top 16 (Senbatsu) since the general elections began decides to leave and at just 21 it just feels so premature and yes there’s always that inevitable feelings of loneliness which lingers afterwards when the graduation is official. Her graduation announcement too came in the early wake of her debut single’s announcement and the coincidental timing of it all even too feels a bit awkward to say the least. Still we’d known of this for nearly half a year prior and so with Kasai’s just 2nd solo single release titled “Mine” it’s definitely bitter~sweet taking it all in at once. And with Kasai graduating earlier this month on May 3rd fans did get a second chance post graduation to bid farewell once again as there was a event held for this second single’s release with event cards being included with this single.
It would’ve felt even more somber had there been a teary ballad included but for Kasai’s final three songs as an AKB48 girl happily they’re much more in the vein of…. sweet~and~breezy here and rather than dwell in missing her and wondering why, these songs are ones to cherish and celebrate her time in the idol spotlight. For Kasai’s girly girl ways, for her seiyuu ready voice which rivals even Mayuyu’s and for just being so darn cuddly cute all the time, thank you♥. (Singles types B & C also includes the track “Enjoy Your Life!” which is fittingly performed alongside Sayaka who graduated on April 7th.)
~Kasai Tomomi “Mine” (music video)~
The music video is mildly fun with a daydream sequence occurring throughout for Kasai although I was sooooo anticipating cute little kittens to appear out of nowhere at some point during this daydream albeit that would have been WEIRD!!! But weird good I think. In any case Kasai’s single jacket photos for type A lead me to believe that the Attack of the Kitties♥ would commence at some point for better or for weirdness~^^.
You know when you think about the history of idol group CD covers over the ages and maybe more so with solo idol acts, they have a knack for misleading imagery to say the least! Like on a CD cover the girls may be frolicking in a swimming pool complete with giant blow up Kimutaku love doll where everyone’s having a grand time together (doll included I insist) but then when you see the accompanying music video for that single not only is there no sight of a pool or love blow up doll…..but no water to speak of even =/!!! What gives?? It would be like seeing Yuko♥ dressed in hot denim shorts on her debut solo single’s jacket cover only to find out that she’s actually wearing (hot) corduroy pants instead in her music video =(!!!! Well actually Yuko♥’d make those corduroy pants look gooooooooood! (I insist) =D
