Happy Aloha~♥ Memorial Day Weekend Friday!!
For tonight’s Unzipped♥ we go way back into the YS Web vaults to find former idol now actress Fukiishi Kazue who’s been most active in both television dramas as well as movies going back to the mid nineties. I first remember Fukki gracing numerous idol magazines going back to the early 90’s and the first drama I’d seen her act in was the memorable “Love Generation” which also stars Kimutaku and Matsu Takako who are both personal favorites of mine which made this drama really extra memorable and how it followed on the heels of the success of “Long Vacation” also added to its aura and expectations which I thought it lived up to very well. Fukki also appeared in the drama series “Yamada Taro Monogatari” in 2007 and I’ve always found her natural knack for quirkiness a most endearing acting ability of hers….and of course love her gorgeously mesmerizing eyes!!
For tonight though I thought I’d share a rare j-pop CD single which Fukki released way back on July 24th, 1997 titled “Sepia no natsu no photograph” and it was produced by the very successful J-pop singer/ songwriter Hirose Kohmi!! The single includes the original track, an orchestral version, karaoke version and a b~side titled “O-MA-KE.” I actually purchased this single back when it was originally released as I was familiar with Fukki from her aforementioned frequent idol magazine appearances and a bit of another rarity found in this single release is that it’s of a gatefold style 3 inch CD single format as the jacket opens into a three part~two sided glossy casing and the photography used here is most cute too which never hurts.

There’s a great retro feeling in this track and lots and lots of Hirose Kohme hooks within….really a sweet song with a great uplifting chorus.

The orchestral version really sounds like a movie soundtrack, really, if you play if back and close your eyes you can imagine this accompanying a cinematic experience and it’s so rare to find a totally orchestral version of a song on its single for sure.

The b~side opens with Fukki speaking about herself at length in the form of a last ceremonial speech with her various likes and interests, and it’s not really a b~side track as it’s more of a narrative spoken over a remix here.
From inner jacket scan just above you can see that her “Fukki” nickname surely goes way way back too as her fan club was named just that.
And now for her YS WEB appearance which dates back to nearly the very beginnings of the YS WEB visual series itself and yet another rarity here is the very style of these photo shoots as during Fukki’s early idol days she’d rarely appear in mizugi like ever when it came to her pictorials for idol magazines making these a sweet~sexy rarity of hers. Wonderfully playful and outdoors, YS WEB with long time accomplished photographer Nishida Kouki at the lens team up for a most pretty and widely varied selection of Fukki photos~.
Plus notice something about the photo shoot’s locale? Doesn’t it seem very familiar? Hint: notice the lava? A~h now you know =)! Very cool!
