Tonight we’ll reminisce mini~Nacchi♥, aka ex Momusu Abe Natsumi’s younger sister =). Abe Asami for a short while followed into the footsteps of big sis as she had a full blown music career occurring between 2003 and 2004 with the majority of her releases coming out in the latter year. And when I say full~blown, the production and effort put into each of her releases were nothing short of amazing as every CD single was of the maxi type and always included a DVD extra which would either include the title track’s music video/making of or a full production short film. In all she released 2 full length albums (“wishes”, 4 Colors”; debut album “wishes” includes a making of album DVD~ included with first pressing), 6 singles as well as image videos, shashinshuu, a pv collection and a video collection of all of her short film works.

I remember totally expecting Abe Asami’s vocals to sound at least a bit similar to her older sister’s however she has her own unique tone as you’ll hear in the couple of songs I’ve included here as she really doesn’t sound anything like Nacchi. She definitely has a much more cute~sy quality to her singing and her music releases were also far different from anything Momusu was releasing then too. So here I’ve included a couple of favorites♥ with the first being an album track which appeared on her debut album “wishes” which released on November 5th, 2003.
~Abe Asami “Mamotte ageru yo” mp3~
I’ve always loved how this song gradually builds up in intensity while still keeping its ballad feeling overall, the music has a memorable haunting quality about it while its lyrics likewise express strong heartfelt emotions, just really a song that grabs you. The melody here too, so in tune with Abe Asami’s natural range and style as sometimes when you hear an idol debuting the musical compositions at times aren’t a good match for them, here definitely not the case.
~Abe Asami “Sotsugyou” (music video)~
The style of the “Sotsugyou”’s pv has a sort of SPEED “my graduation” feeling to it in the way it was shot with ‘memory’ segments reflecting on all that’s being left behind while it gradually builds up to the joy of the experience and times shared over the years. The music has a uplifting folk style with international tones for sure and I especially love the scenes where Abe Asami’s outside the school with the cherry blossoms aflutter all around her….just a beautiful vision.
And we finish tonight with a bit of mini~Nacchi♥ gravure nostalgia =).
And that trademark Nacchi smile, little sis sure has that one in the same.
Gravure is from August 2003 and was also released as a shashinshuu.
