酒井法子…碧いうさぎ

Recently while going through some old folders I found a long forgotten translation of Sakai Noriko's drama theme song and mega J-Pop hit "Aoi usagi."

"Aoi usagi" was the theme song used for the first "Hoshi no kinka" drama series which starred Sakai Noriko herself alongside popular actors Takenouchi Yutaka and Osawa Takao. The drama followed the often tragic tale of a sight and speech impaired nurse whose love for a doctor played by Osawa Takao goes through unimaginable trials and tribulations following a head injury he suffers which causes him to lose his memory…including his love and devotion towards Aya (Sakai Noriko) just as they were promised to be married. The sequel "Zoku Hoshi no kinka" may have fared by comparison but the original remains really special! This theme song has been a favorite of mine for such a long time and it was only right to share it here I felt and I hope you will embrace this song as I have although I think that seeing the original drama would definitely add to this for sure! ^-^ And with Takenouchi Yutaka and Osawa Takao…what more could you want! 😛

This was one of the very first Japanese dramas that I watched and it remains quite special to me…especially with Sakai Noriko being my favorite female J-Pop vocalist overall and in time I've been able to collect her complete discography with the exception of one cassette tape that alludes me. Since the post that I've linked here Sakai Noriko has also released a complete DVD box set which includes all of her visual works and I've also added this to my collection and it's amazing when….

….all of these can be…..

….replaced by just one set! ^-^

"Aoi usagi"….a J-Pop landmark in a sense, heartfelt, deep…enjoy! ^-^

Sakai Noriko

Aoi usagi (Blue/Green Rabbit)

Ato dore gurai setsu naku nareba
How much more pain will I have then

Anata no koe ga kikoeru kashira
Would I be able to hear your voice, I wonder

Nanigenai kotoba wo hitomi awasete tada shizukani
Words spoken innocently, glancing, just quietly

Kawaseru dake de ii taniwa nannimo iranai
Only enough t have an exchange, there's nothing more I want

Aoi usagi zutto matteru hitori kiride furue nagara
Blue rabbit, waiting for you always, only myself trembling

Sabishisugite shinde shimauwa hayaku atatamete hoshii
So lonely, I'll die surely, quickly wanting you to warm me

Atodore kurai kizutsuita nara
How much more hurt will there be then

Anatani tadori tsukeru no kashira
I'll be able to wend my may to you, I wonder

Araitate no shatsu no nioi ni dakisukemeraretara
The smell of the freshly washed shirt if I can be enveloped

Itami mo kanashimimo subete ga nagarete kieru wa
Hurt and sadness too, everything will be washed away and disappear

Aoi usagi naiteirunoyo sou anata ni kikoeruyo ni
Blue rabbit you know, I'm crying that's right so yo can hear me

Tatoe zutto todokanakutemo eien ni aishiteiru wa
Even if it doesn't reach you, I love you eternally

Aoi usagi sora wo kaketeku kokoro terasu hikari hanachi
Blue rabbit spreading across the sky, brightens the hearty, sends out light

Ai no hana ni yume wo furimaki ashita e to ah…
Spreading dreams on flower of love for tomorrow and…

Aoi usagi inori tsuzukeru dokokani iru anata no tame
Blue rabbit, I'll continue to pray for you, who is somewhere

Ima no futari sukueru mono wa kitto shinjitsu dake dakara
Because the only thing that can rescue the two of us now is surely just truth.

Such beautiful but tragic lyrics! Hope your 4th of July weekend was great too!!! (^o^)/
