Want to win a free BK/C-ute concert DVD? Entries for the "Berryz Koubou & C-ute Nakayoshi Battle Concert Tour 2008 Haru-Berryz Kamen vs C-ute Ranger-" DVD giveaway are still being accepted until Thursday May 15, at midnight. Entries can be posted in the previous "Berikyuu! Idol" post just before this one. ^-^

Welcome to the first season of Berikyuu! Idol where some things never change…Randy's enthusiastic!…Paula sometimes hears imaginary performances… :P….and Simon,……………… well he's still Simon. :O Your votes along with the judges will help determine which of the 14 contestant idols continue on each week as the bottom four vote getters will be given the boot each week until only the final two remain.

Time to see this week's performances as uploaded from the Hello Pro Hour DVD collection.

First up is Nakki who's so cute with her hoola hoops and very good at it…but my favorite part is how she wonderfully offers Sayu a chance to uh…..show her waist swinging talent! :O Nakki then performs "Hey! mirai" a very much loved song of mine! ^-^

Nakki performs "Hey! mirai" on Hello Pro Hour

And now the judges reactions:

Randy: "Yo man yo that hoop thing was hot!!…I'm feeling you dog!

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said…….and I love YOU!!"

Simon:………………………….

…"That was absolutely ghaasssstly!….it was something like ordering a hamburger…..I didn't know whether to ask for fries or not. :O

Momo will be performing Moritaka Chisato's classic ballad "Watarasebashi." This has nothing to do with anything really but I just love her hairstyle! ^-^ And also note how she rests the microphone on her chin throughout her performance which is a bit odd but that's why I adore Momo so much!

Momo performs "Watarasebashi" on Hello Pro Hour

Let's see what the judges have to say:

Randy: "Oh man, listen dude love the song choice and that's how you bring it!"

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said….plus I love YOU!"

Simon:……………………………………….

…"That was absolutely like the last time I was in a pizza parlor and they offered me free anchovies which I find strange but tasty at the same time……..what did I have for dinner last night…..?"

Next is the amazingly adorable Kannachan as she will be performing Momusu's classic song "I WISH." Her hiragana race against Gakisan being a highlight of this show and Gakisan's reaction to her own hiragana mishap is quite priceless too! ^-^

Kannachan performs "I WISH" on Hello Pro Hour.

And now for the judges reactions:

Randy: "Yo check it out dog!…that was the bomb!"

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said….plus I love YOU!"

Simon:………………………….

…"It was absolutely baffling….I didn't get the whole writing on the erasable board thing and it reminded me of the last time I was at the supermarket and I was shopping for bagels….but they only had plain and no wheat."

Next up is BK's Maasa who will be performing Ayaya's beloved song "LOVE namida iro."

Maasa performs "LOVE namida iro" on Hello Pro Hour

And now for the judges reactions:

Randy: "Dude it was a little pitchy in the middle but you finished strong…overall a good performance"

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said…..plus I love YOU!"

Simon:…………………………………….

…"It was kind of like ordering a burrito…….I didn't know if I should be getting hot or mild sauce but on the ghastly meter is was only like a 5.4 which isn't bad considering that I usually believe every thing's a ten."

Our next idol is C-ute's cute leader Maimichan who will be performing the shuffle group classic "Shiawase beam! suki suki beam!"

Maimichan performs "Shiawase beam! suki suki beam! on Hello Pro Hour

And now because we care…the judges thoughts:

Randy: "Check it out dude you rocked the house!….."

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said……plus I love YOU!"

Simon:………………………………………

…"It was kind of like the last time I was stuck in traffic and needed to go badly……you're just thinking to yourself…why did I have that last can of cola?…..that may have been the best of the night so far."

Ryan: "And thank you for that……Simon! :O Next we'll be hearing a performance of Ayaya's single "Zutto suki de iidesuka" by none other than BK's wonderful Miya. And her baton twirling that she performs beforehand is really impressive too!!"

Miya performs "Zutto suki de iidesuka" on Hello Pro Hour

Let's see what the judges have to say about Miya's performance:

Randy: "Yo man dude yo listen the whole baton part was really hot!….solid performance and I'm feeling your voice dog!

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said…..plus I love YOU!"

Simon:………………………………………….

…"This is officially the strangest show ever…it was kind of like ordering sour dough but getting rye instead…I didn't get the baton thing at all although it did remind me of when I was in pre-school and I learned how to do tricks with a empty roll of paper towel……good times." 🙂

Our next idol is C-ute's own Erikachan who'll be performing the sultry "Onna, kanashii, otona" yet another wonderful shuffle classic! And I love when any idol unexpectedly shares a hidden talent of theirs! Love Erikachan on the drums! ^-^

Erikachan performs "Onna, kanashii, otona" on Hello Pro Hour

And now let's hear from the judges:

Randy: "Yo you rocked the house with the drums!!…..dude man dude yo that's what I'm talking about that was the bomb!"

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said…….plus I love YOU!"

Simon:……………………………………………………

…"I loved the Nacchi bit with the drums but the flooring in that room is beginning to bug me as it's absolutely ghastly!….why can't they have a carpet instead?…..it would then have reminded me of the time I was swung around the room when I was really little and got some carpet burns on my bum….good times."

Ryan: "And thank you for that sentimental trip down memory lane Simon. Now where were we….okay then….the next idol we'll be hearing perform is…

…Chinamichan who'll be performing Nacchi's cute single "Koi no telephone GOAL" but first up is yet another hidden talent….eye ball tag!" :O

chinamichan performs "Koi no telephone GOAL" on Hello Pro Hour

And now for our judges reactions:

Randy: "Yo dude you got everything working tonight with the eye ball stuff and dude the song was fun upbeat and hot yo!

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said…..plus I love YOU!"

Simon:………………………………………………

…"I think the whole eye ball trick was completely pointless and it really may have hurt your chances tonight….it was like the time I went camping and forgot to bring toilet paper and a can opener…and then there was this little bear who ate all of our food overnight…good times."

Our next idol contestant is C-ute's Airichan who'll be revealing to us her hidden talent which she honed at school, followed by a performance of Mikitty's high energy single "Boogie Train '03" which has been jazzed up beautifully here! In fact a mention must be made about all of these live performances which are accompanied by live musician(s) and the wonders this can bring to any performance as the arrangements for the songs chosen have been revamped giving fans a great variation on familiar songs! It's so cute when she first starts and gets only an air sound out of the horn! Ah but Yukosan is such a wonderful mentor and nurturer to the younger members in H!P as she's so encouraging and warm here! ^-^

Airichan performs "Boogie Train ’03" on Hello Pro Hour

Let's hear what the judges had to say:

Randy: "Oh man listen dude I'm loving the brass and although you started off a little shaky with some non notes you really stepped it up afterwards….that was hot and the song you selected really suited your range and style dog!

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said…..plus I love YOU!"

Simon:…………………………………………………….

…"Randy and Paul I don't know what you're talking about that was absolutely ghaaaaasstly! First there were no notes and that threw everything off completely for me and from there it was just like being at an all you can eat lunch buffet but you've forgotten your wallet at home…I really wanted the crab legs too…good times."

Next up is Kumachan who has really great chemistry with Sayu….hmmm but then again I think that one of Sayu's strengths is her ability to be comfortable with just about anyone in just about any situation! Kumachan will be performing Gomaki's debut single "Ai no bakayarou" which sold an impressive 434,790 copies!…despite it not being a favorite of mine. Hey who chose Kumachan this song?!!! 😛

Kumachan performs "Ai no bakayarou" on Hello Pro Hour

And now for the judges' reactions:

Randy: "Yo man dude that was a bit of a questionable song selection for you but you did really well with it…you kind of lost me in the middle for awhile but overall it was a good performance."

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said……plus I love YOU!"

Simon:………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

…………………………………………………………"the song was absolutely ghastly!……it literally makes me think of the last time that I had a really big bean burrito before going to bed….good times."

Ryan: "Thank you Simon…now I know where I'm headed right after taping concludes….can you say across the border." 🙂

Next up is Risakochan who has a great little drawing contest with Gomaki and both are really artistic in their creations of each other's likeness! Too tough to choose a winner here as both drawings are really cute! ^-^ Risakochan then performs "Hajimete kuchibiru wo kasaneta yoru."

Risakochan performs "Hajimete kuchibiru wo kasaneta yoru" on Hello Pro Hour

Let's hear what the judges had to say:

Randy: "Yo man yo that drawing was hot!….I'm feeling you dog! Your song performance was the bomb yo!

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said….plus I love YOU!"

Simon:……………………………………………………………………..

…I thought this was a singing contest so I'm a bit puzzled by all of this…I found both drawings absolutely pointless and for a while there during the song performance I thought I was back at Chuck-E-Cheez where I used to work part time dressed in the mouse costume…sometimes things would get out of hand though when I would tell them what I thought of their little parties and hats and the kids would throw pizza and their little drinks at me….good times."

Next up is BK's Chisatochan who'll be performing "Suki ni nacchaikenai hito" and I can't believe that she actually talked Sayu into an arm wrestling match! ^-^

Chisatochan performs "Suki ni nacchaikenai hito" on Hello Pro Hour

Now let's hear what the judges have to say:

Randy: "Yo man yo where have you been hiding all this time?!….you tell that Tsunku character to get you more solo lines…dude that was hot like a hot dog!

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said plus…..I love YOU!"

Simon:……………………………………………………

…"That was utterly peculiar….I have to say it was eeriely similar to the time I went to a dog show and there were no boiled peanuts being sold at the concession stands…what was even more uncanny was that there were no concession stands there at all….good times I wanted the poi dog to win."

Our next idol contestant is BK's captain Sakichan. Here she will be showing us a hidden talent of hers on the piano as well as a performance of Momusu's infectious classic "Ii koto aru kinen no shunkan."

Sakichan performs "Ii koto aru kinen no shunkan" on Hello Pro Hour

Ryan: "Now let's hear from our judges…..

…and isn't it amazing how they always seem to have the same look on this show! Those stylist that we have working so hard behind the scenes are really amazing!…I thought I'd just point that out!…..what's that?….I look the same too?! Is that some kind of joke? :O"

Randy: "Oh man listen dude that piano performance was a bit short but I really felt what you were doing there….the tempo was a bit wavy at times but you really made up for it later!….yo dog that song performance was hot!

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said….plus I love YOU!"

Simon:…………………………………………………….

…"It was a bit like going to a wedding but not being invited…….speaking from experience the food is always great but I can't figure out for the life of me why that cake is so expensive as it's usually absolutely ghastly……however it would be nice to be invited for a change and not be escorted out by security….good times."

And the final performance of the night will be by C-ute's Maimai as she sings a much loved Ayaya classic "Yeah! meccha holiday." Risakochan has a great recorded version of this same exact song on BK's Summer mini album so let's hear Maimai sing her heart away now! But first Maimai will perform for us her taiko drum skills! Taiko drums is such a passionate art and it's of course much more difficult than it looks! Yay Maimai!

Maimai performs "Yeah! meccha holiday" on Hello Pro Hour

And for one last time tonight let's hear from our judges:

Randy: "Yo man yo dog yo yo yo!…..that was hot!….the whole drumming bit got things started and you really embraced that song so well….did we save the best for last!"

Paula: "Ditto what Randy just said…..plus I really think that your first song was a bit of a better match for you vocally….

Simon: "But Paula that was her first and only performance so far…."

Paula: "Are you sure Simon? I'm sure I heard something earlier tonight that I really loved by Maimai…."

Simon:………………………….

Randy:………………….yo!….ah yo!

Simon:……………………………………..

…"Ryan make yourself useful!"

Ryan: "How about we continue…..after the break!" (^o^)/…

……..and wer'e back! So Simon your thoughts on Maimai's performance tonight."….

…Simon: "This whole night was like an absolute nightmare that wouldn't end…like the time I was last at Burger King and they wouldn't make it like I wanted it……..no bread just the patty and lettuce and fixins…..what I find so strange Randy and Paula is how similarly you both think and react to things and also the lack of childhood references by both of you has really put a damper on this show I think….other than that there were brilliant moments I think and it reminded me of the time that I was in line at the post office but I had forgotten the package that I wanted to send at home so I asked this really nice woman next to me if she'd save my place in line if I were to return home and collect it properly…….her reaction was less than appropriate as she told me to *%!!@#**…good times indeed." 🙂

Ryan: "The voting is now open and if you'd like to see your favorite idols make it through this week then you know what to do!…This is Ryan Seacrest signing off and we are out!" ^-^

Please vote for your favorite 5 performances!

  2. Ah but entries for the giveaway can still be made by posting your picks for the final two and eventual winner on the previous post as long as it's done by Thursday May 15th at midnight. ^-^ Hmmm…but I guess with less entries each entry will have greater odds of winning too. I think the concert DVD is going to be one of the best by BK & C-ute!

I can hardly wait! MB raised the Excitement Level again! 🙂
I love your simulated Judges chatter! It is so right on!! Did you watch the year that Jasmine Trias from Hawaii was on there? She had one really good song, as I recall. I have quite a few AI songs from various sources, including now iTunes Store. My friend JenJen (funkyglasses on VOX) is a HUGE Clay Aiken fan from American Idol days. He is now in the Broadway version of Spamalot!! ^^

This was really entertaining, although a few of the performances made my ears hurt…most of the performances were not bad though, they were just not particularly amazing.I can't wait to see the results…I loved the picture of Simon! XD

  5. Thanks, just a bit of my overly wacky side coming out there! 😛 Jasmine Trias actually visited our work place and had an autograph signing event but unfortunately I missed her that day….I had jury duty! :O LOL! I actually thought she had more than one good song though! 😛 Hmmm…Clay Aiken was really good!! 'Spamalot?!'

  6. I was trying to find something that I could use where all 14 members from both groups participated and Hello Pro Hour came to mind…but it's true as these are really a bit older performances by them and everyone's gotten so much better as vocalists and overall performers since this program. It's kind of a trip down memory lane seeing them perform at this early stage. ^-^ I would have actually chosen different songs for a few of them which I think would have suited them a bit better back then. I was wondering if I should keep using Poll Daddy which allows the results to remain hidden throughout the voting as I thought it would raise the suspense a bit more than if they if they were visible as each person voted. And that way I can have a little results "show." 😛 I love that picture of Simon so much!! It just cracks me up as it looks like he just ate something really bad!! ^-^

I've just had an email from MorningBerryz, looks like those VOX problems have started happening again, I've been asked to let you know that MorningBerryz is trying to get things sorted, to quote the email;"…I cannot access any VOX sites right now and therefore cannot post or reply to anyone but I do intend to complete the "Berikyuu! Idol" voting although it will most likely be a no frills affair from here on with no Randy, Paula, or Simon…I'm going to continue to try and access VOX and I may end up using a friend's computer…"Fingers crossed the problems get resolved soon.

Hi MB! That is so strange!? That you can't access VOX from your laptop. You can access it fine from other PCs? VOX was down for a while a few days ago… Wonder if there is a connection? Perhaps if they rebooted and aquired a new IP address in the process, it wasn't propagated to you? What is the exact scenario? Messages?.Since u can't access any VOX sites this time, that would imply your provider is not able to "resolve" http://www.vox.com (with dns). These things happen and not all providers are as good at keeping all this working correctly. Even a correction can take days to propigate sometimes! 😦

  11. Thank you for posting this Paul! I've been let in finally and it's a little past 5 p.m. right now and I'm just going to try to finish a post really quickly before I lose access again. If this persists into next week then I'm really going to shut down this blog for good. Maybe start off somewhere new and unknown like we talked.

Wow! I forgot about these preformances… they are not a good thing to forget! The H!P Kids have always amazed me at how good they were already at such a young age! Erika really amazed me with her preformance, since I had never seen it before, the song choice seemed difficult to me, but she pulled it off! I'm happy that Risako sounded so good! I find that to be her only real downfall normally…maybe she just needs time to age! (haha) Hmmm I think (most) of the girls did very well! I really miss hearing Chisa's amazing voice D: I wonder who will win? 😀 I'm excited now!

They have a service called The Geek Squad here in CA. I'd send them over, if I could! :))The only thing that I'd really like you to try is:Start buttontype RUN in search windowclick on little icon called RUNin box type: ipconfig /flushdnsmake sure you have a space between ipconfig and /flushdnsthen restart browser and try again. It happens with IE too, right? If so that implies PC/provider issue when stressed by many lookup. Let me know anthing else you see of note. Crossing fingers! ^^
