Jimmie Johnson wins at Phoenix International Raceway!!!!

Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson and Team Lowe's for winning Saturday's night race at Phoenix International Raceway marking the first win for Hendrick Motorsports in the 2008 season!! Phoenix is a 1 mile "flat" tri-oval which features different radius characteristics and banking on the two ends of the track which makes it one of the more unique tracks on the Sprint Cup schedule which they visit twice a season, the second race being the second to the last of the season. Watching a race run under the lights seems to always have an added element of excitement and talk about being uneasy and incredibly nervous for those final laps as I was soooooo afraid that he was going to run out of fuel!! And on top of that his crew chief Chad Knaus revealed after the race that he himself wasn't even sure if they had enough fuel to go to till the end but he kept reassuring Johnson that they would make it and that he could allow himself to save fuel as his lead over the second place driver Clint Bowyer was a substantial 10 second lead…but Knaus actually told Jimmie that it was a 20 second lead! :O Hendrick Motorsports team mates Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished 7th, while Jeff Gordon finished 13th and Casey Mears 11th. ^-^
