Battle Royale! Hello! Project style!! :P

The episode begins just as any other ordinary show as Taka-san and Nakaikun wave in the guests…hmmm…how in the world they chose such an odd H!P member lineup is astonishing and the gathering for today's episode seems to be quite random! :O A sign outside the studio reads: "IF YOU'RE BEAT TAKESHI, YOU'RE AT THE WRONG STUDIO…TRY THE NEXT DOOR. :)" Nakai promises a fun episode filled with games involving musical chairs, lots of dessert, and even some wacky trademarked Taka-san dancing moments thrown in! All aboard the special Utaban bus as this one's part road trip, plane ride, all eventually ending up on a large isolated island off the coast of Hokkaido.

The departure from Hokkaido takes place utilizing numerous helicopters and the members have been divided into small groups, each given a backpack with promised goodies, and sent off in succession to the target location. Risakochan is first to notice that something seems a bit off but is more worried at the moment as to whether there will be 'big' dogs on the island or not and asks some slightly creepy looking guy with strange eyes and bleached hair who now sits next to her and seemingly has appeared out of nowhere after boarding was completed. He assures her that no 'big' dogs are present on the island with a sly nod. The members are dropped in locations along the outskirts of the island varying in distance from one another as the promise of a game has been announced…problem is that the island is far larger than anticipated by anyone.

It's now just past sunrise and numerous loudspeakers now shower the seemingly deserted island along the beaches…"If you will open up your backpacks you will notice that each one of you has been given one special item." Hmmm…seems that Beat Takeshi has somehow snuck onto the island anyway! :O Risakochan quickly checks her backpack and finds a pouch of "Scooby Snacks." :O (Hmmm…that freaky looking character on the chopper is in for a good beat down if I see one…she sighs to herself) Across a long stretch of beach to the West Risakochan notices that Momo is within sight and she calls out to her while beginning to head towards her. Once again across the loudspeakers the voice rings out…"You must be the first member to reach the center of the island alone where you will find a single table and all the dessert you can eat!…all other members will be given no solo lines in their upcoming single releases!" :O The last part catches Mikitty's attention as she gazes at the frying pan that was placed in her backpack…and with no new songs to perform in quite some time she ponders if this is really a punishment. Meanwhile Ayaya wonders if this is some sort of ploy to have Tsunku sing all of her songs in an upcoming album or perhaps…an instrumental release? O_o Then a sudden vivid memory hits her…(it was the last night of her Fall tour and just prior to the encore Tsunku had crashed the concert right in the middle of "Momoiro kataomoi" and proceeded to hog all of the lines!)…O_o…"good thing they edited that out when the DVD was released" she sighed. Hmm…and just how is the slinky she's been given supposed to help her today?

Risakochan has now reached Momo who is puzzled by the ancient box of Cracker Jacks that she has received. While not edible, it does include an actual toy…a mini compass…something that the current product fails to produce as it has opted for cheap miniature cardboard junk and things of the like. Some distant barking is heard and Risakochan is not pleased…she tries hiding behind Momo, something that is practically impossible to do! After some encouraging, Momo helps Risakochan regain her composure and they head off into the central wilderness of the island. Up ahead the silence is broken by a metallic clattering and while sneaking a peak over a small grassy hill, Rii & Momo witness Rika and Ayaya in a fierce battle, pitting tennis racquet against slinky! Apparently they're not just for "walking" down stairs anymore. Off to the side an unaffected Takitty looks not too pleased with the pair of yo yo's she's been given and Risakochan upon noticing that the tennis racquet is hers quickly begins to descend down the hill towards Rika!

To be continued…

(This is what happens when you stay up too late!…. 😛 as part of a joint writing, wu-san will continue the story at his VOX site. (at a future date) And you thought "Mad Libs" was wacky…

  1. LOL.Beat Takeshi scares the crap out of me ever since I watched BR. I can't watch any movie he's in. His FACE scares me. I know that's bad because he's a person…but yeah. XD

heheh…just updated my blog to accommodate this new mini co-venture. Finally time to use the my Vox account lol.
I'm actually mid-way through writing a travelogue I mentioned to you in a recent message, so I'm filled with writing fever right now…I'll see what I can come up with soon then, hopefully. Ah Momo, it's gonna be fun lol.
@Coinlockersbaby: aww, I guess he is pretty intense in the movie lol.

  3. -No "big dogs"…. Yeah…, ok.
If the "big dogs" weren't around somewhere, there would be less incentive to do better, and few to report on any individual good deeds.
Speaking of games, I've decided to do a "series" on my top 100 favorite songs, beginning tomorrow night (Jan. 6th, 2008) -You asked me (loooong ago, yeah I know) and here it comes! (-God, I hate to post an ad, like this, on your wonderfully-written page, but you asked me, and here it comes!
-I've got 10 songs that I'm dyin' to post right now, but let's keep things semi-organized, eh? 🙂 I am posting them in NO REAL PARTICULAR ORDER (at this time) so #100 means very little. -It is however the 1st that got posted, so I guess that's significant.
-I hope you find them to be enjoyable!

haha! XD This story has so many possibilities! I'd want konkon to win because she just looks SO sad when she looses contests for food (remember her graduation special! I was so sad each time she lost!) I'd love to see something like this actually happen with more H!P members (like momusu's adventures in Alo!Hello2 — miki seemed very happy to wait for everyone and be the "boss" XD)

  6. Heheh Beat Takeshi does have a scary face and especially in BR! He was great in the remake of "Zatoichi" the blind swordsman and with his eyes shut for virtually the entire movie he's not really scary in this and his character is actually quite endearing. If you have a chance to watch it it's a great movie with action, humor, and even heart. Just a little note as I've added just a little to the Tsunku/Ayaya part but it doesn't affect the storyline as I wouldn't want to throw wu-san off.

  7. Sorry wu-san that it took so long to get started over there. This is kind of out there so thank you for agreeing to it! 🙂 Aw sorry that I'm putting more work on your already full plate! Take your time with it as this writing has no deadline. :)I've edited in just a small addition to the Tsunku/Ayaya reference but it's nothing that affects the story…sometimes thoughts just pop up!

  8. Heheh the reference is a bit of inside humor as the members of Berryz Koubou were asked a set of questions…kind of long ago though…and one was "what are you afraid of?" Risakochan answered 'big dogs' and I just can't get over how cute that is! 😛 Hmmm…someone gave me this great retro "Big Dog" t-shirt but it has disappeared mysteriously as I can't find it anywhere. I just had a look and your post "magically" appeared right when I refreshed your page. It's a great idea to present them like a countdown with 10 songs a week. I can't believe you finished it so quickly as I know how time consuming a project like this can be. I think a lot of people will discover new music through this as well. 🙂

  9. A nice thing is that right now I also don't have any idea where the story will lead as the next part's in the great hands of wu-san! I just hope that my premise isn't too wacky for him! Ah I loved Konkon's graduation special! Konkon with treats is a happy thing! 🙂 I really miss Mikitty's authority as it was such an important part of Momusu's dynamic. I loved how she always spoke her mind and it didn't matter who she was talking to. When some members were acting cutesy she'd have that look on her face! If something like this really were set up it'd be so fun to watch it all unfold in such a large environment. H!P Island: Battle Royale!

  10. laura sometimes my imagination and writing get kind of out there! 😛 I just started writing this and then stopped…was thinking about deleting it but then the thought of wu-san and I working together on something came to mind as I've been the one holding this joint venture up which he thought of awhile back. I was just thinking…he could write the next part and so on. I'm happy that it did sound like an episode for awhile…hmmm…those "Scooby Snacks" were probably too unbelievable! 😛

I confess! I have BR and BR2. I got the Brit release, which is supposed to be the best version according to what I read at the time. My first copy was off Bitorrent… 😉 That's such a funny concept… last H!P to survive. ^^

  17. I'm always amazed at how many fans own these movies!! I used to think of them as cult classics but they seem to widespread to keep that title. The cast is pretty amazing when you look at where they are now and Beat Takeshi was almost too frightening! Sometimes I like to write strange things! 😛

Everyone that I've shown it to loves it! Nothing like attractive teenagers killing each other! ;)I think you should combine your H!P girls with some of the boy bands… match them up, like in the movie. ^^ Beat was pretty scary, mainly because his brutality was so banal, so casual…I love that idea. Original and humorous!

  19. When I first heard about this film I wasn't sure if I would really like it. The whole idea is so out there and idols and violence… :O But it's such a great film and one of the most original too. If you have a chance watch Beat Takeshi in the remake of "Zatoichi." He brought his own style to this legendary character and a small example of that would be how he keeps his eyes shut through pretty much the entire movie. The director gave this movie a great touch of heart and even some comedic moments. This is definitely my favorite Beat Takeshi role! You can cheer for him here! 🙂

He is an amazing actor, that's for sure! 🙂 Even in BR, he gave an awesome performance. He became his character. I've heard of Zatoichi…Who would play his role in your H!P version?? ;)The movie is so over the top, that you can't take it seriously – that's the fun of it.I like the "Race Queen" type lady that gives the instructions of the monitor. Too much! hehe "Let's be enthusiastic now, shall we"?

  21. He became so believable that it became scary! I think it's those eyes too. I hope you can find this "modern" version of "Zatoichi" it's really great! I think I can suggest this film with confidence. :)It could be their producer Tsunku…but I have him in there for real! :)Oyasumi!

  24. Yes that's the one!! The wiki is amazing, it's like everything you can think of is there! I think you're going to love this film so much. It's a film that I think you can even suggest to strangers on the street…although I've never done that. 😛 I'm happy to hear that Netflix has it too! Let me know what you think of it after you've watched it.

I am indeed excited to have it coming. Plus, Netflix has an online component too, so you can watch some of their movies online, as part of the monthly price. :)I also have Oldboy coming too. I'm very impressed with how many foreign films they have now. If it's been released as region 1 DVD, seems they likely have it. Now, as you have so kindly done, I can have some great movies to watch that you especially recommend. I too have previously went by guessing and with actors and directors I have liked before. Have you seen the French movie Amelie?? Excellent! You 1 Liter Tears is ready. Did you get my VOX email?

  26. I loved Amelie!! The director brought quite an innovative approach to the screen and it was like nothing that I've ever seen before! It was just amazing how it was filmed in the most unusual and original way. I had to buy the DVD! Wow did you really make it already?! I'll respond in private. Hmmm…I really do hate to impose though.

  28. "Letters from Iwo Jima" stars my favorite Arashi member, Ninomiya!! It may sound silly but this is the real reason that I really wanted to see this film. Well I still would've wanted to see it but this made it a must see movie! And of course I had to buy the DVD too! 🙂

  29. Mikey says:

Didn't you mention Arashi just a short while ago in a recent post?? I think that's the reason for the success of many films – the actors' pulling power. That was so cool to see it streamed (legally) 🙂 SO, now I can have most movies "on demand"! :)I don't know if you like Sci-Fi much, but the new Sci-Fi Channels Battlestar Galactica (NOT the old series!) is AWESOME. Rent the Miniseries. It will draw you in, if you like Sci-Fi at all. So well done!

  30. I thought that Nino did such a great job in this movie! Hmm…not sure if I mentioned them recently but because I love Arashi so much they can be mentioned at any moment! 😛 I like some science fiction but it's really selective. Of course if it's Star Wars then I have to watch it!! I haven't seen anything of this series before and I'll try watching an episode. Right now the only t.v. series that I'm watching is "Heroes" although I still need to catch up on the second season. 😛 I thought that the first season was the best writing television had seen in a long time and I hope that the writer's strike ends soon. I loved "Party of Five" and I'm still waiting for the seasons to continue to be released on DVD. It's taking them a really long time and I wonder if there's some sort of legal issue happening. I tried watching "Lost" but my interest dwindled after awhile although the beginning looked so promising. Plus it's being filmed here in Hawaii so I really wanted to like it. I'm still waiting to run into one of the cast members!

I think the new BattleStar blows just about everything out of the water, especially the mini-series opener and the 1st season. You'll know after watching the mini-series. 🙂 It starts off with a hymn in ancient Sumerian(!) I wish that I could email you some songs!!George Takei from Star Trek and Heroes was at SDAFF this last year, as was James Kyson Lee from Heroes too :)They film a lot in San Diego too… I sent the Princesses the opening sequence to Hawaii 5-0 on their last DVD. ^^

  32. I'm not familiar with the Star Trek t.v. series but seeing George Takei in Heroes was quite a surprise! I was reading that Kevin Smith is going to write and direct some upcoming episodes for sort of a prequel series and I wonder what kind of personal touch he'll bring to it! "Hawaii 5-0" is legendary here in Hawaii…now I have that theme song stuck in my head. 🙂

When I was a kid, we NEVER missed Hawaii 5-0! "Book 'em Danno!" ^^ Danno of course is Mary Martin's kid. She was most famous for playing Peter Pan on Broadway. Princesses love Peter Pan too! I have to admit that I was always looking for the hula girl part back then. Pretty racy stuff for a kid… ^^"Sulu" got a special award at the SDAFF last October for 50 years in the entertainment industry. 🙂 I so remember the episode were two groups were fighting each other. Because one race was black on the left and the other was black on the right… It so vividly showed how wrong racism is! And… "The Trouble With Tribbles" episode! ^^I love the Hawaii 5-0 theme. I have it on my iPod. (It's by The Ventures)

  34. I became aware of Hawaii 5-0 later so I have to admit that I'm only familiar with some of it. What's amazing is the landscape and how different it looked back then! But I love when they're driving in one area and suddenly are in another area not connected and you're thinking to yourself…wait a minute! 😛 Hmmm…I don't own the theme song, maybe I should purchase a Ventures album. 🙂

I went to Aliamanu Elementary on Salt Lake Blvd. Looks like a lot of development since then!! ^^This is the one I have: Walk Don't Run: The Best of the Ventures I got mine from iTunes store, but you can still get a "hardcopy". 😉 The major record companies are removing copy protection and selling in different digital venues, like iTunes Store and Amazon.com… You can DL it for 89 cents from Amazon.com HERE You just listen to clips from each too… 🙂

  36. It's a real weakness but I really like to own the actual releases when possible. Most of my friends are content with getting downloads both official and…um…sometimes not so much and they think I'm a bit crazy to always want the actual album or single when you can own it for so much less. Ah but I don't mind as I'm a bit weird this way and I think this way of thinking will remain with me endlessly. 😛 At the same time I can totally understand being happy with a paid download but I just like having the physical release and that's a large part of my overcrowding issues in my room! 😛

Maybe you should open your room as a H!P ("It's so H!P!) and J-pop museum to help cover costs and expansion? (I'm only 1/2 kidding). Really, it seems to me that you are uniquely placed to find a niche that uses your knowledge and skills. There a LOT of people around the world that are interested in J-pop, Japanese films, etc. And English is the worldwide linga franca these days… I think it is really hard to make a living just by blogging. There should be some distribution company, record or film production company that would love to have you help promote their catalog to English speakers. There are tons of English speakers in places like Malaysia too. Have you noticed how few songs have English translations? (This goes for k-pop, c-pop, etc.) I think that it would help a lot if more companies routinely included lyrics including English lyrics. (mp3 can store lyrics inside the file). And be willing to pay you to translate, since they would have increased sales, I am sure. Could they do it locally? I'm sure they could, but most of those "engrish" translations are pretty bad. Well, it's just a thought..I like to have the physical item sometimes too. My life as a nomad, being a Navy Brat and then moving every few years after that taught me to travel light, as they say. What would you do if your "'cuz" Ayu showed up and offered you a million dollars for all your stuff?!? 🙂

  38. Hahah I'd like to build myself a little separate house to keep everything in and there I'd disappear for days! But having a little room can be cozy too and I do find myself being more and more creative when it comes to maximizing space. The past couple of mornings it's been kind of cold here and by Hawaii cold I mean somewhere in the low 60's although it somehow felt like it was in the 50's! And I find myself using so much of the hot water at 2 a.m….I really can't imagine living anywhere where it's colder this time of year. Hmmm..blogging is just a really fun thing to do for me and I actually haven't been doing this for very long as it's just been a little over a year now. A friend in the UK suggested that I try it out even though I have no idea what I'm doing! 😛 Translations are so difficult and I'd have to gain much better skills, that and just having the time to do them. It's just great to know that so much others love the same music too and that's really enough for me! 🙂 I've had to move twice and even though it's been on this same island I find that having more belongings really makes it an incredible task that becomes more difficult as time passes. I have too much stuff! 😛 But I'm so attached to everything! Hahah if Ayu and I were related and that happened I would have quite a dilemma on my hands!! I actually don't know…isn't that scary?!! I wonder if I could buy everything back for less. 😛
