I finally had a chance to watch this dvd today. If you're not a big fan of Rikachan then this dvd will not be your cup of tea. Like the Kamei "Love-Hello!" dvd this release isn't about beaches and bikinis although there is a bit of that in here but not to extent that some may be expecting based on past "Alo-Hello!" releases. I'm too biased (equals I love Kamei too much) to compare this to Kamei's release in any other way so I won't even think about a comparison as it wouldn't be very fair. I love the fact that this was shot here on the island of Oahu although I didn't recognize all of the locations they shot at. Things get started with Rikachan, camcorder in hand entering a jewerly shop. Rikachan finds a nice golden "R" pendant and with the help of the shop's clerk who's fluent in Japanese picks out some omiyage as a present for a lucky fan who purchased the dvd. Next stop is a coffee shop who also specializes in milk teas and Rikachan is able to understand the menu enough to order a popular drink. Dressed in a nice pink flowered bikini Rikachan looks great at the beach! Next it's off to get her nails done and the shop owner is Nihonjin and their conversation is like that of two friends. She picks out a design she likes and with precision we see it created right before our eyes.  Next up is a bit of night tennis. I got a kick out of this as I used to play tennis awhile back. The court was still a bit wet from rain and Rikachan almost slips at one point. :O A girl named Sarah joins Rika for a couple of games and although you know that she's going easy on her, the games are a lot of fun to watch. Officially Rikachan becomes the first H!P member to go surfing in Hawaii and with the help of 2 instructors, one of which speaks Japanese, Rikachan is shown the basic techniques involved in the sport. After a quick test (which was an eye opener for me as I've never seen this) it's determined that Rikachan is "goofy foot" (right foot forward stance). Rikachan is really impressive out there on the ocean as a beginner and they gradually take her out further to catch slightly bigger waves although she does wipe out once! She's really quick to catch on and looks cool out there! After a bit more bikini beach shots it's time for lei making and some hula dance lessons. The music in the background is from the Hawaiian themed Momusu single collection album which was released back in 1992. This hula dancing segment was a lot of fun to watch and I must mention that she looks cute in Hawaiian attire! The last segment of this "Alo-Hello!" is dinner time and Rikachan emerges in a beautiful dress for the occasion. The waiter is really great and suggests the shrimp cocktail appetizer, for the main course the seafood pasta and a mango cream dessert which arrives flaming! Rikachan also orders a special cocktail which she asks to be a reflection of her and Hawaii. The restaurant she's dining in is a famous one that actually rotates. As you're watching her throughout dinner the scenery is gradually always changing and what a great view it is! Again, unlike in past "Alo-Hello!" releases you must be a really big fan of hers to truly enjoy this release. If you fall into that catagory, enjoy! 🙂
