Here is the incredibly sweet and cute Kuninaka Ryoko. I first saw her on a cover of Kokiku magazine as she was the lead in a morning drama ("Churasan") which was broadcast here in Hawaii on NGN. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the first series but was able to see the second series. She released 2 singles ("ryukyu moon" "meguri aetane") and both are theme songs which were featured in "Churasan2" and "Churasan 3." "Ryukyu Moon" has a great Okinawan flavor to it and Kuninakachan's vocals are sweet. If you've never heard Okinawan music this might be a good place to start as it's not done in a traditional way and instead is still pop. "Meguri aetane" is straight J-Pop and a great song too! In between these 2 singles she released an album titled "Furusato" (one's home; one's hometown). The album contains 14 songs all of which fall under either pop, folk or ballad category. One of my favorite songs on the album is titled "White; kimi ni ienakatta koto." Besides her album and singles I also bought her dvd and 2 shashinshuu's. The dvd runs about 40 minutes and contains her 3 pvs, making of the pvs, release event footage and interview with candid footage of Kuninakachan and her little dog. She's really down to earth and sweet. After getting these I had to get her shashinshuu's. I have 2 of them and one is pure shashinshuu heaven while the other is a very private look into her growing up and hometown with personal photos from her own family's photo albums and of course there's also a lot of new pics of Kuninakachan looking great!  This shashinshuu is quite thick and is actually about the equivalent of 2 normal sized shashinshuu's put together. The photography is great!! Below are some screen shots from her dvd. The last 2 are from the interview portion. She's so cute in everyday attire! 🙂
