Reading Paul's comments about the Love Machine pv reminded me about the video release which has additional footage that wasn't included on the dvd pv collection. Back when this was released H!P wasn't releasing dvds yet so video was the only way to go. And because of that I have some of their concerts and pv singles on both vhs and dvd. When they were released on dvd I had to upgrade. There's an intro which has a guy standing in a crowd watching workers take down a billboard of Morning Musume's 2nd album "Second Morning" and replace it with a billboard of the "Love Machine" single cover. And new member Gomaki (her 1st nickname which makes you think of eating a sushi roll :)) is revealed on the giant billboard to a very impressed bunch of guys watching in the crowd. And there's also additional footage after the song ends with that guy groovin' in a music store listening to "Love Machine" on a listening station next to a Momusu display for the single. Gradually a girl in a hat gets closer to where he is, eventually standing and staring right at him smiling. It's Gomaki but his eyes are closed and he doesn't notice. She walks away and just then he takes off the headphones and turns around. Gomaki turns and gives him a wink. This extra footage makes the pv run about 10 minutes in total time. I sometimes wonder why they didn't include it on the dvd pv collection. Maybe as a bonus pv so you get both versions. I haven't watched this video in quite awhile and I just watched the video tape version. Sometimes it slips my mind just how dynamite Gomaki was with her debut with that blonde hair. She's so cute in this pv! She dyed her hair dark right after this pv and it kinda bummed me out back then. The blonde look was cool. Anyway all of this was so long ago but Paul just got me thinking about it.
